Everyone says it, but just how do you do it? How do you take the guidelines of the WW program and turn them into a lifestyle you can live every day...from now on? That is what we are here to explore. Each weekday, a new topic is offered up for discussion. Newbie? Join in! Veteran? Join in! Your thoughts may be just what someone else needs to hear.

Today's topic: For those of you that set goals for the summer, how did you do? Any observations about yourself?
I saw a LTL post from Mayish where some of you posted your summer goals.
This is a day late. I was sick yesterday but feeling better today.

In June, I decided that I needed to lose the 10 - 15 lbs over my personal goal. I've learned that it is much harder to lose/ maintain my weight since I can't run anymore. I have a foot issue so I can only walk for an hour a day. I still have problems with eating in social situations. I'm still working on that. Vacations with others seems to be a challenge since it is a week of social situations. My big success is that I didn't quit. I have a tendency to quit tracking after I go off the rails. I'm still tracking. I've lost 10ish lbs and working on the next 5. I've always been a slow loser. However, this is for life so I need to figure out the social eating thing.0

Ideally I would have lost weight this summer, but I'm counting it as a win that I maintained! I've also been on a downwards trajectory these last 4 weeks (I always do my best weight loss in the Fall and Spring) so I'm hoping this leads to getting back into the 140s comfortably.
I also started CrossFit to add more strength training into my life. It's going well so far and I look forward to seeing how much I improve.1 -
I don't recall my exact goals, but my weight did trend downward over the summer.
I also was successful in doing my first 200K brevet (bike ride) in August. That was my 5th ride of the summer that was 100+ miles. I have my second 200k brevet on Saturday.1 -
In early June, my WW meeting leader asked us to consider one thing that would be a 'game-changer' for us. I decided mine was moving more. Up to that point, some days would work out pretty well but too many did not. I decided I would make time to walk, something the dog and I really should include in our day anyway.
Walking is not tough for me in any way, but clearing my schedule and prioritizing it can be. For the most part, I've succeeded. I'd say we've walked about three miles a day 85% or more of the time since June. I definitely feel it's added value for both of us. Try as I might not to get locked into any particular schedule though, it works better for me to do it relatively early in the morning. It's easier for me to devote time to it then as opposed to later in the day. That part is in my head though, and the dog doesn't care when we go (as long as there's no hint of a thunderstorm).0 -
I had a rough summer. I only gained 2 lbs in 3 months but that's not the whole story. I had several spikes in weight and then lost them again. Over all I'm up around 15 lbs from where I was 1 st of the year. Journey goes on.0
