Added another 1.25 miles walking. Stress walking again, the final run through took less time than allowed but the final comments took waaaaay longer.
September total 8.75 miles
Theoretically I have time for a long walk today. I hope so, we are having a cool spell so it would be nice to take advantage of it while I can.0 -

@ANACONDA469 - I am honestly stumped as to what is happening with your posts! I don't know what the deal is and why it's telling you your posts have to be "approved". I don't even have any means to be ABLE to review and approve a post!! Did you post something in some other public forum that might've gotten flagged? To me, your account doesn't look any different from anyone else's. So sorry you're having trouble posting!
Now for some news that is extremely upsetting to me. It has been absolutely gorgeous weather for riding the Harley this week and should continue for the next month. This morning about 10 minutes after I got to work, a co-worker came to my office pale as a ghost and told me that they had accidentally backed their large pickup truck into my baby and it was currently lying on the ground because he needed help picking it up. At first I hoped he was joking, but his face said he was serious. I was parked next to another full-size pickup so he couldn't see it as he drove up and turned to back up. He didn't just knock it over. He pushed it into the curb and up onto the grass. This is a 1,000lb bike so he had to be moving pretty quickly. My bike is a very expensive factory custom with custom paint and it did probably close to $8,000-$10,000 damage and it will take close to 6 weeks in the shop. Of course his insurance will be paying for it all, but it will never be the same either. And of course I am thankful I wasn't on it at the time and didn't get hurt...and I know, it's "just a bike"...it'll get fixed, blah blah blah....but that is my baby....my dream bike I waited all my life for and I'm just crushed. I am just completely heartsick and I feel like throwing up.

I'm not surprised he didn't see the bike, likely doesn't see motorcycles on the road either. So sorry this happened!
I'd loan you my bike, but it's not your style. (Yamaha FZ6R) Between my shoulder surgeries and Mike's knee surgery, there hasn't been much riding going on around here.0 -

Hope all the various aches and injuries heal fast on everyone.
Also hope those in the paths of the hurricanes, fires and other forces of nature stay safe. I'm in NC, in the cone of Irma, but not as closely as it was earlier reported. I also used to live in CA so I remember the wildfires every year and how scary those were.
Dave - I'm so sorry about your baby. How awful for you. (and while bikes aren't my thing, that is a stunning picture). But good for us here that you weren't on it. I've come to be very fond of you.

Janet: I know your winter residence is Florida so I hope you are not in the worst of this. I am re-evaluating moving south after retiring. I have lots of friends in this storm path. Praying that all survive it and the other three that are on the way too. Be safe Kar.
Dave: I agree with Just_Ceci. Doubt he even bothered to look. I have been hit while in my car by people next to me in a parking space because they never looked. I am sure he will few terrible because he works with you and has to see you all the time. As for your bike....I sure hope they can do their best to make it as close to what it was.
Adding 15 miles of walking 8 miles and cycling and running 7 miles
TTD: 105.5 miles

Thanks, I'm in Central NC and it looks like we got lucky and will just get winds and some rain from the fallout. I think reevaluating moving south is a good idea. I'm a NYer and most of my high school classmates are down there, some family as well. It seems it's almost a rule if you're from NY and I'm one of the rare ones who has actually never visited the state. I've been in NC for about ten years and love it, but this is my first time owning a home and the occasional tornado warnings freak me out more now that I have a mortgage.

Kar: Hubby and I have discussed going to NC or northern SC to live from PA. I would never live in Florida. Too hot for me and I would have to come north to get out of it. Plus, I love kayaking and I don't need gators in my back yard. I was offered a teaching job back into the 80's in Largo Co. They gave me a week to consider but I got offered a job that same week at home. To think that I would be there now dealing with this if I had accepted. I think my hubby and I will do some traveling in the winter to get out of the cold winters here and just spend a month somewhere else and keep our home here.

Yes, gators make pesky neighbors. My biggest thread is the geese when I go around the lakes.
I will say that in these past ten years, I've only had to go to my "safe room" twice and one of those warnings was due to rotational looking clouds but not officially called a tornado. The other was still some distance away but when Mr Newscaster Dude says to move, I listen. The rest of the time it's been heavy rain and no kind of damage. A few years ago, I was getting ready to go to work and there were numerous alerts to a storm, not a tornado, but what would be a strong one. I was on the road out of my subdivision and had to hit the brakes because there were at least fifty geese in the four lanes and not one of them was moving. It was eerily creepy because they looked like statues and didn't move for some time. You read how animals sense a storm and this was a good example.
To keep this on a moving my *kitten* note, I didn't move today Decided on an overdue rest day, I was really tired and I don't take enough of these days (you know you don't when both the trainer and dietician say so). I am working tonight so I will be moving and burning some stress calories ...
Stay safe everyone and check in when you can!

How's this for a weather forecast? "Rain/Wind. Low around 80F. WSW winds at 115 to 130 mph, decreasing to 80 to 100 mph." My family and I are all safe in NY.
Wishing you all the best as you deal with your various injuries, fires, accidents, and weather events.
