What do you do after you've fallen off your plan?

Sometimes (like last night) I wind up eating outside of my 16:8 plan. It's usually just a piece of toast or something else under 200 calories. What I've been doing is just going back on plan the next day. I usually eat between 11-7, so I just hold off until 11ish. It's rough for me, because once I've eaten late at night I wake up super hungry. It's like starting over on the IF plan for me, and that first day of huuungry.

What do other folks do? Do you consider that late night snack the end of your last window, and slowly roll your schedule back to what you were doing? I ask because of the hunger and because these late night snacks seem to slow my weight loss by .5 lbs per week (two more reasons not to snack, but it's upset tummy issues when TUMS or Pepto won't work).

Thanks!

sometimes I need a late night snack to- I am trying to make it a protein snack instead of any carbs. If I do have snack, next day I try to walk 10 minutes extra. I find if I am very hungry a 15 minute walk also helps.

as a suggestion, consider going from 12-8 for your window. and then try to change your sleep schedule to go to bed earlier.

Remember weight loss is not a straight line, there will always be good weeks and bad. Just keep the faith!!

If I get get hungry, I make a large glass(2 servings so 16oz.) of beef or vegetable broth and drink that and then wait 15 minutes. Most times, I don't want anything else to eat after that, I am satisfied.

In your situation I would consider the late night snack to be the end of the eating window. The I would try to wait at least 12 hours (preferably 16 but not always possible) before opening my window the next day. I get hungry when I eat late too (currently feeling that cheese and cracker snack last night making me want to eat this morning -_-) but I just try to ignore it and find something to do to take my mind off it.

I like to eat late, so I try to open my window as late as possible. Currently working on getting to a 3 p.m. - 9/10 p.m. window!

Thanks, all! I'm combining two of the suggestions (go for some veggie or bone broth), and then trying to hold off at least 12 hours when I fall off the wagon. Hot broth wasn't working out so much in 100 degree heat (which is part of the reason I couldn't sleep), but ice cold herbal tea and some nut butter took the edge off.
