Anything that makes you move. I personally love doing martial arts.

My favorite is the elliptical for 30 min to 1hr, I'm on right now, I have sciatic issues so this is a low impact with a great calorie burn.

    I think it's all good.

Resistance exercise will help your muscles reduce their IR and use glucose in the blood. Endurance (or steady state) exercise will help you burn those carbs, especially if timed so it is after a meal.

As a beginner, a brisk walk after your larger meal would be a good start.

I like my stationary bike, because I can do it rain or shine, even if my knee is bothering me, and adjust the intensity for how I feel. I can bring my glucose down into the high 70's from nearly 170 with fifteen minutes of HIIT intervals. I try never to get above 140, but if it does go high it's nice to be able to quickly bring it down.

Strength training as often as possible is good, because it makes my levels lower for the next twenty-four hours. Strength training is also supposedly good for insulin resistance.

A study found that three short walks after meals is more beneficial for glucose levels than one longer walk.
