Everyone says it, but just how do you do it? How do you take the guidelines of the WW program and turn them into a lifestyle you can live every day...from now on? That is what we are here to explore. Each weekday, a new topic is offered up for discussion. Newbie? Join in! Veteran? Join in! Your thoughts may be just what someone else needs to hear.

Today's topic: Does Seafood contribute in your success for maintaining lifetime weight, or losing weight. What type of seafood do you eat ? how often? and when cooked do you fry any?. Do you include shell fish such as shrimp, crab or lobster?

DW an I do our best to eat fish twice a week but don't seem to make that goal every week. We do like to eat boiled shrimp but usually we eat just salmon. Most seafood is pretty expensive which dips into the budget. Per calorie I do find the biggest bang for the buck with baked salmon or boiled shrimp. Don't do much lobster or crab because of the cost and availability. Very seldom do we ever fry anything or in a casserole. There are other types of fish we do like but are careful about what type of fish it is and where it's from.

I love to fish, so there is that. We usually have trout and salmon in the freezer. Most commonly we grill or smoke our fish. I like to make fish chowder, too, which isn't the most point-friendly way to go, but tastes great. Love all kinds of shellfish, but have shrimp more often than other types. Wild-caught shrimp from the Northwest coast is great. We use it in fried rice, in stir-fried dishes, etc.

If, by fried, you mean the classic Southern thing, with batter and deep fat, we never do it. Too much mess.

Does canned tuna count? That would be my primary source. Recently I got into frozen Gorton filets but eat them on a bun with tartar sauce.
I would eat more fish but DW complains about the smell when I bake it.

I enjoy fish. I don't make it too often since it doesn't last long in the fridge and I batch cook on the weekends since I hate cooking during weekdays. I do have some frozen salmon right now that I'm looking forward to combining with some sautéed kale and couscous. Yum!

I should eat more fish but seldom do. I love Wild Salmon from the PacNW and any good freesh white fish (hard to find fresh). going to do some salmon soon.
Fry?? With salmon no. I don't batter and fry fish at all but may sear something in a skillet.

I love smoked salmon (I try to smoke some at least 1-2x/year - slacking this year so far.) and all things shellfish. I love stream caught wild trout as well, when I can get it.

My wife absolutely LOATHES all things fish.. so it's pretty rare that I eat it, unfortunately.

I mostly like baked haddock and salmon. Cold shrimp is a favorite as is clams. I feel any type of seafood is at my top of the list for losing because most is in the green zone.

I’m the only one who likes fish in our house so we rarely have it. And I don’t like making two separate meals or making two separate proteins I should say. So fish is not a very big part of my diet

As much as I can catch. Post Irma I might have to go out and buy a fish dinner if a fishing boat doesn't go out soon.

The entire process is weight loss friendly. Spending the day on the back of a boat is a good way to stay out of the kitchen. Can also provide a fair workout when its windy.

There's a variety of snapper down here. I usually go for grilled or blackened. I guess the blackened is actually pan fried. Every once in a while i may go for deep fried, but it just kind of sits in my stomach.

    Never been into lobster.

    Shrimp is bait.

I love seafood of any kind. Don't eat it nearly enough. Have been doing Salmon or Tilapia Lately. LOVE Cold shrimp. LOVE Tuna Steaks!
    Yeah...love it all.
Since I eat at work or just don't have to freshly prepare a meal each day, I tend to avoid seafood. It is certainly a treat when I get it

I got in cycles and am in an off-cycle now (Summer, I guess) but I do like most fish and love seafood! However, I guess it's more a winter thing for me. Shrimp is a great low-point mainstay that really helped me out last year.

I rarely ate fried foods (of most any sort) even in my fat days and still don't.

We have fish about twice a week. My favorites are grilled salmon and grilled ahi.

I'm trying to remember if my parents ever served fish when I was growing up. I don't think they did. I also don't recall them having it the rare times when we ate at a restaurant. I do remember fishing for rainbow trout with my dad when we visited my grandparents in Washington state. I didn't care for it as I found the texture too mushy.

I rarely eat fish. I do like a good piece of salmon that has been grilled but that is probably a once or twice a year thing when DH & I go to eat at one of our favorite restaurants. I do enjoy crab, but haven't had it for many years. We own a crab cooker pot as early on in our marriage DH would have his friends over on 4th of July and we would cook King crab legs.

I never cared for shrimp or lobster - again a texture thing with me. I'm just a picky eater.
