My dojo is having belt testing in 2 weeks, and my instructor says I'm ready to test for orange. (Belt order: white, yellow, blue, orange).

There is a lot more to know going from blue to orange than going from yellow to blue. I'm most worried about the mist advanced kata.

Anyone else testing this month? Good luck!

Well done you! No grading coming up here, but I am being encouraged to enter the immanent kata competition.

Good luck to you! I'm testing, too--the USJA just changed the requirements for time in grade, so I'm eligible to test for my next belt much sooner than I thought! I actually think the demonstration portion will go okay; they just want to see a few basic techniques, but the written test will be tough. I've got pages and pages of vocabulary words to finish memorizing.

Good luck on your testing!! Go all in on that kata - train hard, and test easy.

Thanks! Just practiced wansu and solid stance five, as well as some basics. Helps that my daughter is a black belt and can coach me.

@shadowbaby4 glad I don't have a written test! I'd feel like I was back in school.

@Bluebell2325 let us know how the tournament goes, if you decide to do it!
