Hi everyone,
I work for a group of physicians and something really cool just happened. One of my physicians came into my office while I was eating lunch and asked what I was eating. I told him, and he looked at me strange and smiled. He said, your eating low carbs. I told him that I lost 14 lbs in 22 days by eating low carbs. He was very happy and encouraged me to keep eating a low carb diet. We talked about ketosis and eating protein and fats. He also highly recommend I listen to Gary Taubes. Everyone else that I know criticize me for eating this way and he completely stands by it. That just gave me a boost to keep going despite negative responses from family. **happy dance**

That's awesome!! Congratulations on the weight loss and finding the support from someone in the medical profession. They are few and far between. And kudos to you for sticking to your guns even though family/friends aren't being as supportive as they could be. ***happy dancing*** with you

Yeah... been there.... I actually had someone call me "borderline anorexic"... directly after I just ate (in front of them) three eggs and 6 slices of bacon with some avocado and small serving of assorted berries.....
My response was, "do you even know the definition or basic description of that disease?"
Seriously, people can just go suck on their bagels! Glad you found a good and supportive doctor!

Hey, are you SURE that guy is a real physician? This sort of crazy talk is nothing like anything I've ever heard from a medical professional. Check his diploma. But follow his good advice regardless of the results of your detective work.

Reminds me of this from the Princess Bride.
You keep using this word, I do not think it means what you think it means.

I have had people call me tiny recently. That phrase comes into my mind when they do. I am normal now, not tiny. I remember when I was tiny, I am not there and don't want to be there again.

Huh? Doctors who like LCHF? Here's a good read. :)

Low Carb, High-Fat is what we physicians eat. You should, too.

This is great! Thanks for sharing. I wish more doctors would start subscribing to this way of thinking, and of course speak up about it, as this group of doctors has.

Right there with you, I am one of the lucky ones to have a primary care MD who says "Low Carb and get moving" is the way to manage my blood sugar and weight.

Semantics summed up in one sentence. I love that movie on so many levels.
