    No.

But that isn't really the sort of answer you're looking for. I am not subject to much in the way of mood swings. The older I get, the more mellow I am. If the world around me doesn't alter my attitude, what I eat certainly won't. Of course there are foods I love and that give me pleasure, but I don't fixate on them. By the same token, indulging in those favorite foods doesn't leave me wracked with guilt, either. I guess I am just a sort of flat-line guy.

Turkey can sometimes make me tired. Over eating makes me feel- blah- of course that's normal.
Foods really don't make me moody, but doesn't mean other things won't. I always keep a positive attitude when this happens.

Fortunately for me not so much. Truly unique dishes mignt produce fond memories like the charcoal oven fired pasta au gratin I tasted in Madagascar. Not moody by food here either.

I recognize that I get impatient, or even short - tempered, when I'm hungry. I'm less certain that any given type of food makes me feel one way or another. I guess, generally, comfort foods have their reputation for a reason.

Moods tend to impact my eating more than food impact my moods. As mentioned there are certain foods that bring memories or are part of traditions and contribute to happy time feelings.

When I don't eat or I get hungry then I can sometimes really become irritable or frustrated. I think the older I get the worst it seems to effect me. What I eat doesn't effect my mood or disposition as much as how much I eat. So if I eat too much and get that darn I wished I hadn't done that feeling or if I don't eat till I'm so hungry and get in a fowl mood it seems to effect me either way. You would think it would be easy to find the right balance and stick to it.

I think if you lead a hectic schedule or your schedule is being interrupted often it seems to effect several aspects of life not just the food you eat. So really maybe it could be something else going wrong in a day but yet I may want to blame it on food I don't know. So in summary I'm not sure whether the mood effects the eating or the eating effects the mood or whether it's either one. Lets see do I sound like I'm confused hmmmm ! may be. Oh well it's always so much more fun to pretend to be happy all day even if your not. They say the brain is only effected by what you tell it to think or something like that. :)

Yeah, when I'm hungry I get snappy, but what I eat doesn't seem to make a real difference i mood.

Timing can definitely affect me in a negative way.. when I don't eat on time, my blood sugar drops, and I don't focus as well, I get snappy, I might even get the shakes, feel weak, etc - there are some physical things going on and they are hard to control. As I've gotten older, I've become a bit more tolerant to them... but it still plays a role in my mood if I let myself get too hungry.

A really satisfying meal (not filling, but satisfying) with good friends/family, great conversation can send me into feelings of absolute contentment. It does not have to be a caloric bomb or overly extravagant food - it's more about the atmosphere and the experience.

Seems odd maybe, I feel more energized when I'm a bit hungry.

When traveling, we made sandwiches, ham on Arnold's thins and had Nature Valley protein bars for snacks. I was a little hungry most of the day. Made good picks at the hotel breakfast, good picks at supper and it was like autopilot. I felt very energetic and lost about 2lbs on the road.

Timing? Tied to my schedule like a newborn.

A very carb heavy breakfast makes me feel sluggish all day. Thus I start my day off with an omelette filled with veggies. I save my carb indulgences for my endurance activities where they fuel me rather than make me want to nap all day.

I did have a strange dream last night where I wanted pancakes and syrup for breakfast. Not sure what triggered that dream, but then most of my dreams seem to be random bits tossed together.

What I eat? Rarely. When I eat? Oh yeah, that can definitely affect my mood. For the most part, I eat when I'm hungry. Believe it or not, it's somewhat of a carryover even before I started losing weight. But when I get out there on the edge of my comfort zone, if I've let my 'hunger' go too long, I guess I get a little bit of LBS (and probably a few other abbreviations B) ). I've noticed I can get quite irritated when that happens.

The reverse of the question asked is more common for me: my eating is influenced by my mood. But that's a whole 'nother question.

@gadgetgirlIL , if you had the syrup with your pancakes in your dream, I hope it was the real stuff. NYS is blessed with this wonderful resource and IMHO, there's nothing like it!

@minimyzeme - heck yes it was real maple syrup and real butter on those pancakes!

    @gadgetgirlIL , now you've got me droolin'!

By the by, if any of you GOADies are into real-life pancakes, the protein-enhanced Kodiak pancake mix is a winner in my book. It's quite plan-friendly and the listed serving size is enough to keep me going for hours.

Not much of a pancake man. But I love waffles, with butter and real maple syrup. :)

If I don't eat I'm Hangry with a Capital H! Other than that I'm pretty flexible with what I eat since I love food. Fried food messes with my digestive system and makes me feel like garbage so that's usually a no go.
