Everyone says it, but just how do you do it? How do you take the guidelines of the WW program lifestyle you can live every day...from now on? That is what we are here to explore. Each weekday, a new topic is and turn them into a Newbie? Join in! Veteran? Join in! Your thoughts may be just what someone else needs to hear.

Today’s topic: How do you define success for yourself?

Success for me is setting goals and achieving them. My successes: Losing weight, getting on rides at amusement parks that I was unable to get on. The change in attitude made me a much better person. My meds were decreased. And I was able to socialize more freely and enjoy the comraderie. Being supportive in many ways to others.

In a word (or two): living lighter!

It's not a number on the scale so much as appreciating a smaller, lighter body. A few benefits that come with it are moving and breathing easier, improved blood chemistry (which might help me live longer and better compared to the old metrics), sleeping better, increased self-confidence, trading a dreary wardrobe for a more colorful one.

It doesn't solve everything and losing weight definitely left me feeling colder than I used to but most days, I'm far more appreciative of what I've gained than sorry for any 'restrictions'.

Right now, and for the last two years, or so, it's maintaining. I had dropped almost to my goal, then put back about 15 pounds. I'm maintaining that higher weight, but not gaining more, so, as of now, it's success.

Success is staying persistent and shrugging off the little stuff. Helps maintain. weighed once or twice over the 2 lb limit (could have skipped weigh in) but 9 yr at goal which is humbling. Not sure why .

At this point it's all about activity. With as little pain as I can get. That means keeping weight off my feet and knees and keeping up with my surprise new pursuit- yoga.

Fitting comfortably in my clothes. When the fit gets tight it's time to drop a few lbs. Who needs a scale? There was a time I'd just go buy bigger clothes.

I second this! Any time I don't have to go shopping is a success (my SO will tell you I hate shopping more than any person he's ever met).

Success is being able to get up steep hills on my bike! Success is being able to tackle long hikes (13-18 miles) without being exhausted. Success is not having to worry that my clothes will fit when I pull them out of my gym bag when I'm getting ready for work.

My success is NOT being “on a diet” but actually changing my Lifestyle. I will never need to go On a Diet again. Just keep living my new Lifestyle.

gadgetgirlIL is right up my alley again. Yup I can get up steeper hills on bike for sure. Wear the same spendy glove soft leather jacket that fit like a glove when I bought it 6 years ago and still does.

Success is being comfortable in my skin and not thinking about weight and food all the time.

Success for me would be reaching my ultimate final destination goal. Success also would mean mini successes along the way whether it was maintaining for a short time or losing. Being happy along the way would be a success in my own mind as I journey onward and downward.
