I like doing green beans cooked in bacon drippings, then tossed with bacon bits, slivered almonds (toasted), and butter in lieu of a green bean casserole. Even folks who are "anti-veggie" generally will eat a few bits of this...5

I made some keto biscuits and turned it into stuffing. Also, homemade cranberry sauce using swerve. Planning to try a low carb pecan pie recipe I found too.1

Roast turkey, roast potatoes, pigs in blankets, brussel sprouts in loads of butter, peas in butter, roasted parsnips, roasted carrots, chestnut and pork stuffing, rye-crumb bread sauce, gravy and cranberry sauce.
It's the one day of the year I refuse to compromise.
There's always the rest of the year to do that!6 -

@AlexandraCarlyle that's how I feel too, but about Christmas. We'll do a keto Thanksgiving, but Christmas is my favorite day of the year so I'll take a dietary 'vacation' day, heh.1 -

I LOVE prosciutto wrapped green bean bundles...and so does the family/friends. It's a recipe I kind of threw together from a mish/mosh of other recipes. It's just frozen french style green beans, prosciutto, butter, soy sauce, and garlic.
I unthaw/simmer the frozen green beans in some salted water...just enough to cover. After maybe 5 minutes, drain them, add them back to the pan with some butter, soy sauce, and garlic salt. (you could probably save a baby bit of carbs by using fresh minced garlic and salt...I'm lazy). Once they are done to your likeness...I still like a little "bite" to them...I take them off the burner and let them cool enough to handle.
I cut each piece of prosciutto into thirds, grab a bunch of beans, wrap them in the prosciutto...continue until you have run out. Then they just need to be popped into the broiler for a few minutes to crisp up.
I've made this cranberry slaw before and it seemed to be a hit, and a nice pop of freshness to the normally heavy Thanksgiving fair. I subbed the maple syrup for splenda and it was still tasty:

Interesting idea to put cayenne in cranberry sauce. I'm sure I would love it but my family - no way!
@bametels ...you cannot taste the cayenne pepper because it's such a small amount and the sauce really does require that to come out tasting right!! I was very hesitant to add that ingredient myself, when I first tried this recipe but I'm so glad I did as it made the dish (seriously)!! So, if you don't tell you family about this ingredients, they will literally never even know it's in there and I'm a complete spice wimp myself with respect to "hot" spices.3 -

@KnitOrMiss I agree....Any time green beans and almonds are sauteed together you can count me in.....The rest sounds wonderful too.....

I like cranberry relish instead of sauce or jelly. I just run a bag or two of fresh cranberries and 1/2 to 1 (well washed or organic) unpeeled navel or other non-mandarin orange through a coarse grind on my grinder and add a dash of sweetener if desired. I can eat a whole bowl of this for dessert but if I do, it's not exactly low carb. Used as a condiment it's quite low though.2

I'll probably make it without the crust next time. You don't have to mess with the swirl if you don't want to, everything can just be mixed.0 -
Green beans almandine instead of the carby casserole.
1 pound fresh or frozen green beans if fresh isn't available, cut into 2-inch pieces
1/2 cup chicken bone broth
Cook the beans in the broth til tender, drain and set aside
In a skillet add:
1/4 cup slivered almonds
2 tablespoons butter
Cook til almonds in butter til toasted light brown. Now add
2 cloves minced garlic
Then add in
1 teaspoon lemon juice
1 teaspoon Italian spice mix
Place the beans and the almonds in the serving bowl and toss so the almonds with seasonings is mixed in well.
Instead of pumpkin pie try this pumpkin cheesecake pie, make it at least a day ahead of time for best results.
