Well done, AnnofB! you are walk, walk, walking this weekend!

For the majority of my years here in this area, Thanksgiving week is when we typically get our first freeze. Except for the last 2-3 years. So we shall see what happens this year. I always liked that bit of cold around Thanksgiving.

    2 Mile walk this way.

Another tracker bites the dust. My Garmin Vivofit fell off while golfing. This is the second tracker to fall off me. The next one will be cheaper and have a watchband clasp. UGH!!!
In the meantime I will use my phone if weather permits golfing or a long walk. I am focusing on healing my legs with yoga and Qigong. Not walking every day has already made a difference. Fingers crossed by Spring my legs will healthier.

    Goals for November
    - 120 miles
    - 15 days over 10,000 steps
    - 80 oz of water per day
    - Leslie Sansone DVD 3 x's per week

This week - 10 mins each day on mini trampoline

Nov 1 - 1.86 miles - tried a new recipe with ground turkey. Yummy! :)
    Nov 2 - 4.60 miles - 10146 steps (1/15)
    Nov 3 - 1.85 miles
    Nov 4 - 3.80 miles
    Nov 5 - 3.35 miles
    Nov 6 - 3.18 miles
    Nov 7 - 3.51 miles
    Nov 8 - 3.42 miles
Nov 9 - 4.09 miles - by the time grandson got here he wasn't that sick! 24 hour flu.
    Nov 10 - 2.97 miles
    Nov 11 - 1.25 miles - my turn for the flu !!
    Nov 12 - 3.59 miles - yup flu only lasted 24 hours
    Nov 13 - 2.93 miles
    Nov 14 - 3.39 miles .... 43.82 miles :(

It is mid month and I always look at my calendar and figure out what I need to do to reach my goals at the end of the month. It is really bad I don't have any days over 10000 steps, oh wait I have one day over 10,000 steps. Curling starts on Thursday night and now I'm not ready to curl, my legs are going to be killing me on Friday morning. I must STOP procrastinating!!! So I will be concentrating on getting my 10000 steps in every day for the rest of the month. I'm getting very sluggish. I'm not losing any weight! I must do something!

    Lilymay2,
Qigong is a standing meditation and holistic approach to healing the body. It is slow movement working on balance and coordination. I love it and do it along with a yoga every morning. Here is a sample.

    11/13-Vivofit tracked 2.2 miles=39.9 miles total
    11/14-Vivofit tracked 3.0 miles=42.9 miles total
    11/15-Vivofit tracked 2.9 miles=45.8 miles total

Well, I am not getting to do Leslie 2X per week, but I definitely have a more decluttered and cleaner house! I have also been getting all of my family's Christmas presents wrapped and boxed to send to Netherlands. The mail to Europe is so slow! It took 15 days for their Thanksgiving box to arrive! :no way:

Oh my gosh Pinky! I cannot imagine losing my Vivofit! I bought all new bands for mine and change them out once a month or so for more even wear. My first band broke after a year for no visible reason that I could see and that scared me. The weakest part of all these devices I think are the bands. :explode:

Thanks Ann for getting my late hike approved! We are taking our parkas and our winter socks and are going to hike our local 2 mile Mountain! The only caveat will be if there is ice on the rocks because we do not have grippers for winter rock climbing as we are normally summer hikers. The Adirondacks are beautiful Mountains in NY ranging from a few hundred feet to 5,344 feet. Most are tree covered with bald summits so the views of the other mountains in the range can be spectacular! This is a good thing since hiking them is not always "spectacular!"

Thanks Mary for your sweet note at the end of last month. Most of my tests have been negative and the MD at UoM Medical Center is settling on an allergic reaction to something unknown. The hives that I had seem to be the issue that eliminates most serious autoimmune diseases. The joint swelling could be lupus, RA, MS but none of these are showing up in tests or current symptoms. I also recovered on my own within one week with no treatment, which is not normal for serious autoimmune diseases. Except for being nervous about this coming back and some neuropathy in my right hand left over from all the wrist swelling, I have been fine! So, unless it shows up again, there is not much that can be done. Now, I have no excuses-I have to "lace up my shoes and get walking."

    Walk Strong Everyone!

You are doing fantastic Brenda. You have a lot on your plate, no pun inteneded... I'm so glad that your med tests have come back without pointing towards those very serious diseases you mentioned. This had to be very scary as well as energy sapping, yet you have been getting those miles in. Well done you.

The Adirondacks sound so beautiful. Can't wait to hear about your hike!

    You are walking STRONG!

    Ann :)

@Brenda, I am so happy to see your post! Thank you for telling us how you are doing and the results of the tests. Having been a nurse back in the day, I was very interested in what you wrote. And especially happy that you are doing so well. Hugs to you dear one.

Yes,we are waiting for a step by step story how your hikes went :) . Sounds so beautiful there. The Northeast is so amazing! Sometimes I really do miss it. But not the bitter cold and ice.

@AnnofB, You are doing awesome! Those miles just keep increasing B) .

November 22: 30 minutes - Three "Walk Blasters" I decided to make it a very quick and easy one for several reasons. Light Walk x 2 for a long gentle body warmup, and the Flexibility Walk for a stretch. It did for me just what I needed this morning.
