Our fearless leader has been away for a week and you have had to put up with the B team starting the threads.

As stated yesterday, I like a plan, so the plan is for Saturdays to be NSV day (unless people want otherwise).

    ysq5jf0ayzkt.jpg

(10 extra points for picking the typo in the copied image :) - The fact I even noticed it is a personal NSV - mildly dyslexic).

My NSV for this week is for the first time ever I have managed to complete 10 door frame chin ups each day. Note, I do not use a bar. I use only my fingertips for purchase. So this required both finger strength as well as arm strength. As little as 3 months ago I was celebrating getting just 1. Now I am doing a regular 10.

What is your NSV (or NSVs) for the week?

Exercised?: Yes. Walked 5 Km in 37 mins (hills).
    Calories?: Yes.
    Tracked?: Yes.

Pre-lunch walk. Good pace despite the warm weather.

Friends birthday celebration today. Two types of cake + cheesecake. Had small pieces of each, but still way under. Needed protein bar and pavlova when I got home to get close to daily macro requirements.

    I love NSV day, Craig!

My two NSVs are that (1) I have tracked everything every single day this month thanks to this group and (2) I have continued to participate in this group...I love how well and actively it is led, and how engaged the members are.

I think my NSV is that I managed to stay on track, exercising and tracking food even though I had dental surgery on Tuesday. Actually, I'm quite certain that wouldn't have happened if not for this group. Yesterday morning it was drizzling during the only real time I had for a walk and normally I would have skipped it but got out there for 35 minutes while wearing a hat and rain slicker......not my normal attire.....LOL

Today I am taking a pass though because we are having our annual pre-Thanksgiving dinner with my husband's side of the family. I'm sure I'll get plenty of steps in wandering around the kitchen, cooking and cleaning and I doubt I'll eat that much but I just don't want to try to log it. I'll be back tomorrow though!

    Within calorie allowance - just.
    All logged and accounted for
45 minutes walk and 30 minutes static bike.

NSV. So far this month I have excercised everyday, prior to that I would have some days- usually work days- when I could just not get the motivation. I know this is being on UAC. Thank you all for being there, have s good evening/ day enjoy the rest of the weekend.

14 years ago, my wife and I lived in Turrialba, Costa Rica for one year. We lived with a Spanish speaking family and attended language school that was located within a botanical park and agricultural post graduate campus. Every day, I have been exercise walking through the botanical gardens. The photo above is of a traditional type of Costa Rican banana. The bananas grow in a big group which is subdivided into “hands”. Each hand consists of multiple individual bananas which are referred to as “dedos” or fingers
  • Yep, we all ( deservie lol ), a round of applause!!

Did I exercise for at least 20 minutes? Yes..1 hour weight lifting/strength training

@craigo3154 - great work improving your chinup count, especially since you're only using fingertips!!

    @SusanLR9 - Yaaay, 2 awesome NSV's, way to go!!

@luluinca - way to hang tough through the dental surgery, and getting out in that drizzle!! Hope you enjoyed the pre-Thanksgiving get together!!

@dejavuohlala - high five on your exercising everyday NSV!! Keep up the great work!!

@BadgerLamb236 -Woo hooo, rockin' those jeans NSV!!
  • Since we are not home in the U.S. we will not celebrate Thanksgiving. That holiday does not exist here. Today, I enjoyed taking my first Pass day of November. We were invited to a birthday party of a friend. Rose and I had a wonderful experience with a multitude of Spanish speaking new acquaintances.
Exercise: 90 minutes at 3.5 mph walking

Spent most of the day at my granddaughters swim meet. She improved free style 50 by 4 seconds!! Much improved start.

Just finished 30 minutes on the stationary bike, and managed log 6,679 steps in a little over 1 hour active time.

Great on calories, over 300 below budget for the day.

    Everything logged.

Exercised?: Yes. I didn't officially exercise, but I stayed active today, and I exceeded my step goal for the day after walking at the outlet outdoors in the snow/rain.
    Calories?: Yes.
    Tracked?: Yes.

NSV: I tried on the dress I am planning to wear the end of next month, and it's looking better on me already. My goal and reason for joining this group was so I could get into this dress. This challenge is helping me reach my goal. I enjoyed reading all the NSVs. I think this would be awesome to report every Saturday. It's very encouraging.

    Calories yes
    Tracking yes
I am grateful for this challenge. We went to a dance tonight....if it wasn't for this challenge I don't think that I would have stayed under my calories and I certainly would not have tracked it!

Good week for NSV. Monday I got right with my eating and exercise habits after a weekend trip centered on eating and drinking. In the past that could have derailed me. Thursday my husband had heart surgery that was more complicated and long than expected but he is doing great. I did not turn to stress eating especially since I was there by myself. I even went and used the Clinic's fitness center to kill some time. -elliptical and weights.
On the negative I tried to donate blood. For the first time ever I had high blood pressure. But it was before the surgery and I was stressed!! Good news was my iron was strong.
Today I did a Stretch, strength and cardio workout. Under in calories. Tracked.

Sorry to hear about hubby's heart surgery but I'm glad he is doing well. My husband had triple bypass 5 years ago so I can empathise with the stress you are under. Good job for not turning to food great job

NSV: in October I missed a month of weightlifting and dancing, due to surgeries. I lost muscle and strength, but getting back into the gym and on the dance floor is a victory against inertia, and perfectionism.

Yes x 3 for today. Again, just under the wire on calories. I drank too much wine. Time to cut back again.

NSV... I bought a new pair of 36" pants the other day. Guess what? they are too big.

The other day I said how much I like to go outside and play. It is cold. Now I am thinking about going to the gym and sitting on a spin bike. Heh.

I will try again tomorrow . See if I can get my outfit right. I was wearing a bandanna over my nose and mouth cowboy outlaw style today. I wonder if I got a balaclava in a gear bag somewhere.

I was thinking weird thoughts about cardio. I wonder if this is fiendish cardio behavior? When I am climbing out, I go to take a pull of water out of my camelback hose. Somehow that disrupts my respiratory pace. I lose my breath or get winded from taking a drink. Pretty weird eh? Is that just me or is that a known phenomena? Don't believe I have ever talked about it with anyone before. Otherwise I don't get winded even in the upper reaches of my heart rates.

Go to the gym. Maybe I will find a warmer place to ride outside. The sun don't shine in many places in my canyon. So it is colder than out on the mesa.

I saw a wild horse today. He was standing up on the top of a hill in the place where the sunlight would hit first as the sun came over the mountain. I am kind of thinking that horse might be smarter than me. I shoulda got a picture of that. It was weird. It was like that horse was lit up by the sun while everything else was in shade. It was a white horse. It looked somehow mystical or something. I would have needed a telephoto to get that picture to work though.
