December was my first month with UAC. Did not, seriously, start with MFP until November. I had previously been tracking (since January 2011 through December 2016) at another online site (caloriecount.com) which is no longer offered. I was extremely disappointed when the site was shut down, as I had personalized many aspects of the program; and had, diligently, entered numerous (96 to be exact) recipes. CalorieCount did allow downloads (exports) of logged, foods, weights & recipes to Excel files; however, that information could not be imported to MFP. I, subsequently, manually entered my weight log in MFP so I would have an accurate weight history; but I now have the privilege of customizing recipes all over, again. I do find significant shortcomings & errors to the MFP food database but am that much more diligent with those database items I do select to log or include in a recipe. I find myself consistently cross-referencing the MFP database with actual product nutrition labels and the USDA database for accuracy. I particularly enjoy UAC for the supportive participants. I had gained just a few pounds between December 2016 and October 2017 for which serious logging in November and December have me back at my ideal weight and in maintenance starting January 2018. @RangerRickL and his leadership is an inspiration to all. I extend my personal welcome to each of you who is new to this challenge. May we all look forward to a happy, healthy new year! Kind regards.2

Hi everyone! And hi @SimonsChange , sorry you're injured but nice to have you back! How long do you think til you'll resume training?
I'm back for January. Looking forward to it! I'm a part-time teacher, mother to an energetic nearly two year old, and studying for a masters so some days I may post less than others but I aim to check in daily.4 -
Hi everybody. This is my first time in the UAC, and I really feel I'm ready for it. 2018 will be a big year for me and one of the main things I want to do is get to what is a normal BMI. That is about 17 pounds less than where I am now and I feel that if I can really get into tracking my calories and maintaining my limit. I run a fair bit and usually stay fairly active, but my letdowns are usually from over consumption.
Looking forward to getting started!3 -
Hi everyone, I'm glad I found this in time☺
Accountability is really what I need right now.
Looking forward to getting to know everyone over the next few weeks4 -
Hey there @am_change and while being injured is never a fun experience I am certainly happy to be back and get back to making some more changes on myself especially with how well 2017 went.
As far as training goes I've already started training tho there's a few things I can't do like majority of cardio other than swimming and no leg day for about 10 weeks.
In those 10 weeks I'll be following a upperbody routine and just a basic diet and go from there.
And wow you're certainly a busy person! Good luck with the grind on the masters I'm sure it'll be worth it.4 -
Hi everyone! Decided to join, been thinking about it for a week! I love logging and exercise, but do tend to go over some days, this will keep me in check! Looking forward to meeting you all and giving you some support, I am 54, been through the mill a bit the last 2 years, joined here in Sept 17, mfp has turned my life around, love being healthy and feeling good! Good luck everyone, we can do this!3

I’ve just joined MFP so this is great. Will hopefully be the accountability I need good luck all!5

This is my first time joining a challenge! I'm really excited, as I think this is just what I need. I'm a college student, and I've been struggling with a sequence of eating disorders for the last 4 years or so. I joined MFP 540 days ago, and have been logging in ever since. Still, I've been struggling with my weight, body image, and relationship with food. I truly hope this accountability challenge will change my life for for the better! I'm ready to put in the work4

I have never joined a challenge before. I’m looking forward to seeing everyone’s progress. I’ve been with MFP since 29Oct and so far I’m successful at losing 16 lbs. I have at least 18 more lbs to go4

Happy New Year, Everyone!!!
I am not new on MFP, but am new to UAC. I really need 2018 to be my year to lose weight. I'm thinking that maybe a group like this will keep me accountable. Other groups, I'd let the team down if I didn't lose weight. I like that it doesn't matter if I weigh in or not -- the important thing is to eat right, exercise and track it. Of course, I knew these things... but haven't been successful in the past. I was skinny the first half of my life, but definitely another story, nowadays.
Wishing all the best in 2018!

Here we go! I've lost almost 100 lbs and need to keep going!! Looking forward to this boost of accountability. Thank you!6

Hi all! I'm Rae from the beautiful (currently wet and windy) state of Oregon, USA. I'm a wife, mom and grandma - empty-nester with 2 very spoiled and adorable fur-babies.
I've been on MFP for nearly 3 years now and have done lots of fun fitness challenges, but this is my first Ultimate Accountability Challenge. Once you've gotten close to your goal weight it is easy to start slacking off, so this will help me to get back on track. I really need to get back to logging daily and the time is now!

Hello. My name is Aisha and this is my first ever Ultimate Accountability Challenge. I need something to keep me accountable and was looking online and found this group. I have read the posts and it seems like it will be a good fit. Hope it keeps me on the straight and narrow.5

Hi there everyone! I'm Tamala and I'm excited about losing 50 pounds this year... once and for all. I say that every single year so I'm hoping there will be a shift and I will stick to nurturing my body with movement and healthy eating.
Looking forward to sharing this journey with you all.5 -
Hi Everyone! My name is Cece. Ive lost 101 pounds. I am working on 30 more in the next 7 months. So slow and steady....steady is my key plan. I've lost most of this on my own through blood sweat and tears,...exercising and eating clean. Last 30 was through Weight watchers. They recently changed their food plan and made many foods "invisible" meaning you did not have to track them. That does not work for me. I am a tracker and a planner and I have to be accountable. This is why I joined this group. I am a curvy girl who is an athlete. I run, cycle , swim and lift. I am a director at a non-profit in New Mexico. This is my first time joining this type of group and I look forward to getting to know everyone and supporting and being supported.5

Hi All! This is my first time participating in this challenge. I have been on MFP for a long time. My weight has creeped up over the holidays so looking for accountability to get back to healthy eating and exercising. Glad to have found this group!4
-
Hi all. New to UAC and hoping the competitive nature of the challenge will motivate me to stick with my goals. Good luck everyone!5

I am looking forward to this group. I do well with exercise (I go to a gym and also stream Beach Body). I eat well (fruits, veggies, whole grains). My issue is I eat too much and am a stress eater. I live in PA and have 3 kids (ages 9, 5, and 2).4

This is exactly what I was looking for! Yay!3

Happy New Year! I'm excited for this challenge, as accountability and consistency have been problem areas for me in the past! I am working towards losing 1lb per week. I will be focusing on that 1lb pound as the goal each week instead of focusing on the total number. To meet this weekly goal, I plan to be active every day for a minimum of 30 minutes, plan my meals, and reduce the amount of sugar and carbs.4

Happy new year everyone I am a Vegan/Vegetarian nurse looking to lose a very quick 30lbs for a trip to India in a couple months. Clean eating and ramping up the exercise will be my Jan-Feb goal. From March forward I intend on slowing down to a gentle consistent loss though ongoing healthy diet and active lifestyle to reach my life time weight goal...a 50lb loss. Good luck to everyone this month! Cheers4

I was part of the UAC in December, but tripped up 2/3 of the way through the month. It's taken about a week and a half to get back on track. Old me would have beaten myself up about that, but it's a heckuva lot faster return than I've had in the past. (Thus the extra 80 pounds I carry around.) I also just saw the pictures from my sister's August wedding. While I look so happy, I also am so much bigger than I thought. That was sad and discouraging, but I'm already down a few pounds and up a lot more regular exercise since then. I'm looking forward to sticking with my healthier habits and enjoying a healthy 2018!2

Happy new year all! I was a part of this group from June-September but hurt my neck in early October and stepped back. That also began my busiest season of the year leading up to Christmas so I got completely out of my workout routine. Which also meant I fell off the boat with tracking food. Im ready to make health a priority again and start building up all the strength and endurance I lost over the past several months! Love the accountability of this group.3

Opting in for a ninth month. 49yo father of one from Australia. Started tracking weight and food when I realised I was heading for obese for the first time in my life. UAC has been helping keep me honest and on track. Have now exceeded initial goal weight and lost over 25kg (50 lbs) and in full maintenance since September 2017.
UAC is helped me create good, sustainable habits with the help of a wonderfully supportive group.4 -
I'm new to the challenge, but been at MFP for several years. I need to hold myself more accountable and it looks like this is just the place for that. Thanks!3

Hello everyone! This is my second UAC challenge and I really enjoyed it in December! Happy to be back and hoping to be in the Winner’s Circle this time! Exercise is no problem for me, it’s the food that has always been my struggle.
My big goal for this year is to run a marathon - there’s one in November that I REALLY want to participate in. I’ve run several half marathons and feel I’m up for the challenge, but I am overweight and feel I will injure myself unless I lose at least 30 pounds (I’m about 180 now) - my ultimate goal is to lose about 50 pounds total, 10 of that being pregnancy weight as I also have an 8-week old sweet baby!
I am so motivated and really hoping for a great, healthy 2018! I am so happy I found this group - we can do more together than alone!3 -
Hi! Happy New Year! I am really looking forward to participating in this group. I gained 60 lbs while pregnant and managed to lose 45 lbs. I am hoping to lose the last 15 lbs and improve habits.3

Surfing the Challenges and knew this was the ine. I started mfp last Mya and lost 30lbs. Looking to lose 30 more this year. Have found that tracking is the key and this challenge will help me be accountable. ~ Jojo3

As I finish the 1st day of the new year, I’m finally taking the time to decide how I want to work on getting healthier & staying accountable & I came across this, sounds perfect! I hope I surprise myself & get through most of the days with all yes’s!! Except for today since I just came across it & didn’t track a thing today...I’ll head on over to Jan 1 for my first pass day...hopefully the last!3

Hello everyone. I'm a teacher with two kids (ages 9 & 10). I was getting frustrated working out a ton but not seeing any weight loss. When I stopped the intense workouts and focused on food instead, I lost about 10 lbs, but I found 7 of them after mindless holiday eating/drinking! Back on track starting today. I struggle to work out on my own, but I don't want to go back to spending $100+/month for boot camp classes. Hoping this group will hold me accountable.3
