What are your goals while participating in this group? I'm up about 3.5 lbs with Christmas/vacation bloat, etc so my goal is to get rid of that quick and get back into my routine. My goal has always been to lose 2lbs per week and I'm shocked and excited to see that will (hopefully) put me in One-derland during this challenge!
What are you hoping to gain by participating in this group? This is my third time participating in this group and I really love the accountability and motivation that comes with a weekly weigh in. It's also great giving and receiving support.
I'm so glad you are back Marietta!2 -

Name: Vane
Occupation: SLP
Age: 24
Height: 5'3", 5'4" on a good day
Starting Weight: 148
Current Weight: 133
Challenge Goal Weight: 125
Ultimate Goal Weight: 115~120
What are your goals while participating in this group?
I will log every day as accurately as possible.
I will make my 6k step goal at least 5 days a week every week.
I will add 1/2 a cup of vegetables to my dinnertime meals at least 5 days a week every week.
I will walk my dog at least every other day, weather permitting (I can't handle the cold well).
What are you hoping to gain by participating in this group?
A sense of community and support. I feel I have a better chance of maintaining if I know people have my back. Weight is a touchy subject in my family so I don't have support there, and all my friends are already thin or healthy, so losing weight is not really a preferred topic for them.
I lost weight using MFP back when I was in grad school to go from 145 to 130, but I stopped logging and got to 148 by the time I graduated.
I hope to continue strongly into maintenance after I reach my initial goal!
And I want to support y'all too!
Hi Vane! Thank you for being here!0 -

I got down to 145 a couple of years ago but then gained it all back after my uncle suddenly died. Last time I lost all the weight I was running a crazy amount and now I'm afraid I cant do it without running but I cant run cause it does not agree with my knees and ankles....and I also hate it. Hi Kelsey. I am so sorry for the passing of your uncle. You can definitely lose weight by doing other activities outside of running.2 -
Name: Janice
Occupation: University Research Professor
Age: 53
Height: 5'4"
Starting Weight:
- beginning of my weight loss journey was 157 lbs in 2016
- as of today 130 lbs
Challenge Goal Weight: (at the end of 12 weeks) 124 lbs
Ultimate Goal Weight: (at the end of your weight loss journey) 120 lbs but 122 is likely more realistic
What are your goals while participating in this group? I reached 122 lbs in November 2016 and went into maintenance. I only logged my food intermittently during maintenance, however, and my weight has crept up more than I like. I am fit and work out every single day, but need to be more vigilant with my calorie intake.
What are you hoping to gain by participating in this group? Accountability - I am private about my weight loss within my "real life", so having an on-line network will hopefully keep me on track with my food log.1 -

Hi Monika and welcome to our group! When you mentioned putting back on weight, are you weighing your food? Is it possible you are taking in more calories than you think you are. Just a thought.1 -
Thanks for the thought! I have a scale and I weigh more food now, e.g., rice.0
