Not sure but with WW I was surprised that I sailed past what I thought of as my set point. I think the author might have a point.0

Oh I hadn't though of that but I am today about the same weight I was for my high school graduation. Close enough.0

I also didn't think that I could ever get back down to 170 which is where I was after I lost 130lbs when I was age 41. Especially since I had turned 50 when I embarked on this last major weight loss. Much to my surprise I not only attained 170, but I stayed down around 163-165 for 3.5 years before work stress caused me to hover around 170.
165 was where I had gotten down to when I lost 40 pounds when I was age 16. I didn't stay there long as I did go back to all my old eating habits.0 -
Hmmm, interesting concept. I often think of what my trajectory might be if I put down the WW tools and GOADie support and go it alone. Hard to tell because right now, I'm not inclined to do so. I wonder whether I'm a stress or two away from the fat guy going out of remission, but right now I'm not seeing it.
Where is the set point? Is it where I was? Like many of you, I'm back to a weight I'd not seen in decades, but is that my set point or was it my fat weight? I guess I don't ponder it too much. What I do try to do is appreciate how much better I feel, even on bad days, in a smaller body. This is reinforced with my bloodwork the last couple years, which gives me an attaboy from my doc, whom I respect and appreciate.
Thanks for sharing the article @Al_Howard ; good food for thought (again).0 -
