    Yesterday, while I was working on my new book and holed up in my basement home office, I got a call from this mature gal in Phoenix. She tells me that tomorrow her favorite hiking trail on North Mountain in Phoenix will be closed for extensive repair. She says,”I’m going to the top right now!”
    Someone took a photo of her when she got to the summit. Her name is Rose and she is my first wife. We will celebrate our 45th wedding anniversary This Friday, January 27.
    It is hard to imagine that the woman in the picture was in terrible physical shape when she was only 45. She hated to exercise. In fact, she once proudly told a doctor, “I don’t do sweat!”
    After that comment he told her,” Well Rose, that time of your life is over! You need to get a trainer and start to move because your muscles are atrophied and your shoulder is frozen.”
    Now she is a 70 year old late in life desert hiker and she is in a the best shape of her life

    Your wife is beautiful, and looks nowhere near 70, more like 50. You are so lucky to be married 45 years. I met my husband late in life, he’s my first husband too but I didn’t get married until I was 45!

    Exercise yes, added 10 min Qigong to 16 mins yoga, 32 min Salsacise DVD, 60 min cleaning, 40 min walk lovely sunset this evening!

    I agree @Rangeck1 well done Rosie! She is an inspiration.

    3 Yes for me today. 30 mins Pilates plus the usual dog chasing of course. I am trying some different on-line Pilates sessions, and while good they are hard work!

    Nope I failed today. Tracking yes, activity yes but WAY OVER in calories. Best wishes to all those who are still successful this month. I shall sign up for February and try again

    Pass #2. Hubby’s birthday and I fully enjoyed the chocolate cream cheese cupcakes I made as well as the fairly high calorie supper he requested. Didn’t go over by too much though and the leftover cupcakes are hidden away in the freezer so they don’t tempt me.

    I'm feeling better today! I did a 2 hour presentation to a group of seniors in the morning. Then, I completed a full day of work and then after a nice 1/2 burger for dinner, I did 2 hours on my book.
    Calories: Under by a big margin
    Tracking: ok
    Exercise: still just a walk...not enough oomph for my cardio/strength exercises. Maybe next week, I"ll be healthy enough

    22nd January. Not a great day, but I managed:

    Calories: Yes, just, but too many of them drinking the last of my Christmas bottle of whisky.

    Try for healthier day today, with Yoga class booked. I also have to try and finish my Tax Return, try and contact step son to reorganise my trip to UK which he messed up. Stresses that make it hard to concentrate on Healthy Me ...

    Lazy day mostly round the resort. Good weather. Went out for a walk to keep body moving and mind fresh. Felt better after (as I usually do). Not fastest pace as still working out area.

    Took daughter, her friend and nephew to the local carnival. Daughter is not a rides person, her friend and nephew both were though. I went on one ride (the pirate ship). Just as I remember it (not too scary for me - in some ways almost relaxing :) ).
