Off Topic - for Moms

Hello all! This is super off topic, so please feel free to delete or ignore. But you ladies are always engaging and supportive, so thought it was worth a shot to see if anyone has any ideas for me!
My work has decided to throw a Baby Fair/Expo and I’m in charge! I have no children yet so this is a completely foreign world to me.
Basically we are looking to do an even mix of FUN + educational. Think Babies R Us, Little Red Wagon, but also having medical professionals, doulas, social services, etc. We also want to have a few breakout sessions where new/expecting moms can learn about breastfeeding, helping baby fall asleep, etc.
Any ideas for potential types of vendors? Or breakout session topics? Or any other suggestions?
Thanks so much! And once again, feel free to ignore me because I know it’s off topic.

Perhaps ask around to see if you can find a local pregnancy yoga/pilates instructor, or a PT with pre/post natal qualifications. They might be good for advice on exercise for those who want it, or give advice on posture to alleviate common pregnancy issues.2

Good idea, thanks! I thought of massage therapists (prenatal massages) and chiropractors, but PT would be a good addition!0 -
1) Prenatal fitness: What to eat before you get pregnant (since many pregnancies are planned or created in the lab.) I saw a nutritionist who gave me great advice on what to eat before becoming pregnant, and my, that kid is a tank! 2) Exercise during pregnancy. 3) Post pregnancy body...what to do to cope with the changes in your body, and how you need to work out to manage the demands of having a baby/toddler. 4) "Getting Your MoJo Back": This could be easy 5 minute make-up, easy clothes for the first years of your child's life, when you're exhausted, and you want something simple but fashionable. 5) Get some toy store reps in with different toys and group them by age (not the reps, the toys.) 6) Look for activities that moms/dad can take babies/toddlers to without spending a lot: book stores have story hours, etc. 7) Have a baby equipment store bring in a selection of strollers so parents can try them out, same thing with car seats. 8) My city has a "consultant" for everything: Sleep, infant feeding, preschool selection. Round up some of those. 9) Bring in some reps from your school district to present on preschool options.
Hope this helps! Also, check out http://www.babycenter.com for some ideas.1 -
Also, see if any local restaurants will offer gift certificates. We were so tired for the first year of our son's life, plus stressed about money. I think a drawing for restaurant certificates would have brought us in..assuming they delivered!1
