At a stall..

Hi all! My scale hasn’t moved in probably two weeks! I’ve been on keto-ing for a bit over a month now and only showed weight loss the first two weeks. I know everyone says don’t focus on the numbers, but I can’t tell much difference in my jeans either. This hasn’t become habit yet, and this stall is enough to make say FORGET IT. Any ideas?

In the launchpad there are a number of good posts about why the a scale can't be trusted. They're worth a read.

2 weeks by most standards isnt a true stall, but it is frustrating. Your body may be reorganizing itself, healing unknown ills, or any number of other behind the scenes things.

Recognize you are worth your health. Give yourself the grace you deserve and make sure you are doing what makes you feel good. Giving up rarely makes a person feel good.

In the mean time, measure all your food, track religiously, and focus on your nom scale related goals.

Take measurements. Often when the scale isn't moving, you will show losses in the measurements.

One month is still fairly early in your weight loss journey. After that initial water weight loss, I lost maybe a pound or two a week and I was exercising quite a bit as well. I've plateaued 3 times since I started LCHF (May 2017) but eventually my body adjusts and I start to lose weight again. One thing I've noticed is how stress affects my weight almost more than having a heavy carb day. I've been sick the past couple of weeks and unable to workout which makes stress management difficult. Working out is an awesome way to manage stress so I've taken up meditation in the mean time which has helped a lot. Once this damn viral plague departs I will work out and meditate so I am curious how that will affect my weight and overall well being. I would try not to concentrate on the day to day scale values and look at a trend over time. Weight fluctuates in everyone for a variety of reasons but if you trend towards your goal weight that is progress for sure.

Almost everybody I've known that is starting their low carb/keto journey has the same result. After losing for the first few weeks, suddenly it stops, usually between 1 month and 2 months in. Don't worry, it's just your body getting the new way of eating figured out... your losses will start again. Make sure you are getting enough water and electrolytes and as long as you feel well, keep on going. You'll suddenly start to drop again.
I'd take measurements or use a non-stretch clothing item like a fitted blouse/blazer or a slim skirt/pair of pants to check progress, rather than just the scale.
