Agree life can be an obstacle. Ferrier came yesterday so I went out dressed to ride. Plan after ferrier was to scrape all the dried “mud” off Thor (we know it isn’t mud but a combination of horse poop, pee and mud all mixed together0
-
Day 4: missed out on running and riding due to unloading and stacking 200 bags of bedding by myself (b/c of yesterday's trailering issues). UGH! My body is going to be super sore tomorrow, but I WILL make it to spin class!1

March 1st is in 90 days away. My 90 day goal is to be able to fit into the 3 pairs of brand new breeches I have (bought them last year on clearance and they're too tight) so I'll look sharp for spring shows! I have an extra room that I'm going to use as my motivational space where I will hang the breeches and put up motivational pictures and quotes.2

Day 5: Spin class, nice ride and unloading more bags of bedding. Food on target.
Day 6: Jumped for the first time in a few months Felt great! Lots of barn work since the weather was so nice. Just about ready for winter, which looks to be starting later this week.1 -
Day 7: jumped again. Having a hard time staying with him due to not being in riding shape, but he was great! Lots of barn chores again...only one more day of warm weather so we're getting as much done as possible.
Monday: finish up some of the barn stuff and ride
Tues: Spin
Wed: yoga
Thurs: run
Fri: spin
Wknd: Ride both horses both days! (ride at least one of them each day during the week...plan to ride at least 6 days a week)

Hows the motivational room going? don't forget to put pics on your fridge too and bathroom mirror! Glad to hear your jumping again0
-
Day 8: lots of barn stuff finished up. Did not ride due to 40 mph winds!
Day 9: Spin class and again, no ride due to high winds.
1 -
day 10: yoga, followed by a really nice ride1
-
day 11: super cold and windy. Chores took everything out of me.
day 12: spin class, really good! Super cold again, so no ride.0 -
day 13: just normal chores, got some much needed rest. Good on food. day 14: chores, nice ride with lots of transitions, focusing on core muscles. Grocery shopping for healthy foods for the week1

2 weeks of taking control. The weight is slowly coming off and I'm feeling stronger, physically and emotionally. Hope everyone is doing well and taking care of themselves during the holiday season!2
-
day 15: spin class, really pushed hard. My quads are tired! Day 16: yoga. Food-wise things are going well. Riding -wise, not so much. I guess I'm going to have to just give in to the weather and ride when it cooperates.1
-
day 17: rode
day 18: spin class2 -
days 19-23: wasn't feeling well so I decided to take it easy for a few days and didn't do anything other than my normal chores and a few rides. Still doing pretty well with food. The scale isn't moving, but I do think my close are fitting better.0
-
day 24: spin "challenge" class. A 1 1/2 hour class! Felt good! Days 25-27 (including Christmas): not much exercise other than regular chores and I did "cheat" on my food 2 of the days. I'm ok with it. I didn't go overboard, but just had a couple of things that I wouldn't normally eat. Back on track tomorrow!1

days 28-30: My back has been bothering me pretty bad the last few days so I haven't done much exercising and have actually had some help with chores. I had a massage a couple of days ago, which I really needed, but now I am sore from that. With my back problems, massages aren't always a luxury, but a necessity. I was more tight than I knew so she had to work pretty aggressively. I need to do more yoga to stay loose so I signed up for a 30 day challenge online for encouragement. I was going to go to a spin class this morning, but I decided to do stalls early while the temps are a little warmer before they drop. (12F now down to 4 for the rest of the day and then -14 tonight). I'll go to the gym later today to run on the treadmill if my back feels up to it. Otherwise just walk.
I am proud of myself for sticking with South Beach for the past 30 days. Cut back on carbs and have only had beer on a few occasions. One beer is satisfying enough now and I choose to not have the second one because I am happy to stick with my plan. The weight isn't exactly dropping off, but I am feeling better and my clothes are becoming looser.
Now that these 30 days are over, I'm just going to post my daily accountability on my home page, but will check in here with updates.
I hope you are all doing well and keeping up with your goals. Happy New Year!1 -
I find down dog really helps to keep my back less achey. Good luck w your yoga challenge. Def keep in touch as I find yr updates interesting and motivating.1

I got through the first couple of days of the yoga challenge and decided it wasn't for me! LOL. It was hard! I'm not at that level yet and really just like to use yoga to do stretching and balancing. I'm just going to keep doing the classes I've been doing so I don't hurt myself.1

Yoga is great. Keep at it. I like the yogamazing videos on YouTube.0
-
I went to my very first Hot Yoga last night...... I survived!
1 -
Did you enjoy it? I love yoga but have never tried “hot”. I get warm enuf in a regular class0

I've been doing south beach (low carb) for about 6 weeks and even though I feel better in some aspects (mentally), I was feeling pretty run down and my muscles were sore and tired with no additional work. I took a break from the diet for a few days and my muscles feel much better. Today I am starting to add some healthy carbs back in for muscle recovery. At this point, I'd like to lose about 25lbs before my first horse show on April 20th. That's a goal of 1.5lb/week. The weather is looking better so I'll be able to get back to riding and I'd like to add a run or 2 in each week in addition to the spin and yoga. I've got a new pair of cute breeches to wear to the show as motivation0

Muscle soreness from low carb is often an elyte issues eg sodium, Potassium, magnesium. I do a mini elyte drink every morning which also helps w any fatigue or brain fogs esp if u r transitioning into ketosis. On long rides I take lots of water and elyte tablets to make sure I don’t get muscle cramps.
Good luck w yr plans/goals and yr new breeches.0 -

Good to know! I will pay more attention to this for sure. Thanks!1 -
Started a new workout at the gym. I don't know what you call it, but it's a group training session 2x/week with all types of exercises. Definitely feeling it today! That will be on Monday and Wednesday. My spin instructor added another class so I'll do that T, Th, F and will also do my gentle yoga on Wednesdays. With 5 workouts a week, I plan to just track my calories, keep my protein up and keep carbs healthy.
I'm hoping that this "system" will work. I'm having a really hard time losing any weight. I'm not necessarily looking at the number on the scale, but the way my clothes fit and the way I look in the mirror. I do well for awhile and then lose motivation and stop tracking my food and end up eating too much. I wish it wasn't so hard! And it keeps getting harder as I get older! I know a huge part of the issue is the winter weather. I have hardly ridden at all, which is super depressing Bring on spring!2 -
I agree. Bring on spring. Hard to fight the hibernating mode this time of year. Personally I do find lower carbs helps a lot along w vit D. Getting out everyday as you pretty much are also shld help. I am in limbo til the doc gives me the go ahead so pretty bored and lazy right now. Good luck with your program. 8 weeks til April 1st!!!!!1
-
@Shron123 the lower carbs definitely makes me feel better, but I decided I needed to add some in as I add more strenuous workouts. I also looked into the electrolytes like you suggested so will keep an eye on those. Hope you're recovering well0
-
Wed I see surgeon and will hopefully get a date I can start back.0
-
How did the appointment with the surgeon go? @Shron1230

Thanks for asking. Back to everything this week - yoga and workouts and chores - but he asked me to wait another week or two before riding. Will see how I do w everything else this week and then decide when to ride. But definitely back in the saddle by March 51
