Hopefully, Team mates, you are taking the time to read the other team mate's posts. In fact, I know that Craig and I go back and read the posts that are posted in the past. By reading each other's posts, you will learn that some team members are out of the Winner's Circle, and yet, have lost more than 40 lbs in the last year. Or maybe, they are out of the Winner's Circle, but they just qualified for the Senior Olympics.
What is going right for you? Today is a day to celebrate Non-Scale-Victories! Or NSVs

Message to the serial wooer: stop it. Woo is actually negative here. If it was a kudos to you I don't care, just stop serially wooing everyone on here.

Calories?: Yes
Tracked?: Yes3 -

Exercised?: Yes. Walked 2x3km in 24 mins each (hills).
Calories?: Yes
Tracked?: Yes
Caught a rodent in a trap overnight, so first walk was to release rodent in the forest. Second walk was pre-dinner (spare 30 mins).
Not sure if the rodent was a rat, mouse or marsupial. May have predators in the forest, may not. (The Kookaburras love snakes and lizards (hove not seen a snake here in 20 years), but I think the owls prefer rodents.).
Various NSV's for me.- Being able to do 10 deadweight chin-ups (no bounce or jump) on the doorframe. Originally could not do even 1. (fingertips of steel )
- Being an off-the shelf small size in clothing (even fit the same size jacket as my 15yo daughter - but her style is seldom mine).
- Being able to maintain an uphill walking pace (and still being able to talk) faster than most people's flat or downhill walking pace.
Love reading others NSV's.

NSV's... Lots for me- Able to fit perfect on a chair without the extras around the chair
- Able to climb stairs
- So much energy.
- Really enjoy workouts.
- People (friends, and relatives who have not seen me for a long time) stop me to ask for advise.
- Been able to apply the principles of weight loss to other areas of my live and see victory. This is a big one for me.

Tracking: Yes.
Here is a NSV:
I ran into a friend whom I haven't seen for a year yesterday and he was amazed at my weightloss. (Mind you there is an occasion in the past where I dyed my hair red and it took him a week to notice that and we were homemates. )8 -

@fatbambi2017. It's the keeping on coming back that is the magic. It takes time to build the habits that will help you for a lifetime.
Good to see you back on track again.
Qigong is wonderful for both the mind and the body. Learned the basic patterns many years ago, but it the daily practice that works wonders.3 -

@oykucan. It's great when people notice. I've found it best when they notice (and comment) you don't expect it.
Unfortunately, our brains are not usually wired to notice differences with a large gap in-between. Most of the time our brain edits the memories of the past to mostly match the present unless the change is substantially obvious. (This is part of the reason progress photos and logging are important - our memory is imperfect).
For someone to comment on a weight change after not seeing you for a while, it means the results are substantial (usually 10% or more range). So well done for a significant enough change that other people notice without prompting.

So, I'm out of the "Winner's Circle" and I was initially pretty pissed. Then I was just going to stop posting my efforts. The day went downhill from pretty much the moment I got downstairs this morning. Husband was in a pissy mood, my knee locked on me and I nearly fell in the garage looking for paper towel (cause doesn't everyone keep their paper goods stock in the garage????), hoped to get centered in my yoga class only to discover an overly talkative, overly glib, not too centered loud substitute instructor chatting about with the overhead lights on and the FANS blowing - so we didn't overheat. WTF? I bailed when my joints started to cry out. Tired, irritated, and really wanting to cry I headed for home. Drove by (and then drove to) the donut shop where their cream filled longjohns probably weight 2 lbs. I kid you not! They're huge. And not nearly what I thought I remembered them being...but I ate one anyway. And a part of the second one because I bought one for our college age daughter who's home for Spring Break and usually gets one while she's visiting. Then I was scolded by the husband to "get into the office" and bring some gadget he needed. I went to the office. Was met with the same surely pissiness I got earlier in the morning. Went to lunch with husband and daughter and watched as the two of them enjoyed each other's company. Couldn't get out of the booth because my knee locked again. Headed back to the office in silence. Got yelled at by husband again...he huffed out of office. I did cry this time. Stayed late getting my own work done. Driving home wanted a cocktail. Hell, wanted a whole bottle of anything. Got home. Husband ignoring me now. Finished donut with a tall glass of cold milk. Decided to track everything and realized I wasn't horribly over my budget. Then I decided to write all this as a "Non-Scale Victory" because I realize that I let someone else's bad day and pissy treatment of me influence my behavior - and I crammed the worst thing I could think of down my throat. AND IT DIDN'T EVEN TASTE THAT GOOD! When I'm done here I'm going to sit and read in my sunroom and watch the sunset. Then I'm going to take a long, hot bath. Then I'm going to bed. We'll see what tomorrow holds. NAMASTE...LOL!10 -
Yes x 3
20 minute run
Almost all my victories are non scale- sometimes a year can go by without me weighing myself. I want to lose fat in some areas and build muscle in others so the scales aren't for me. But I find the tape measure never lies so that is what I use.
NSVs:
-Since starting UAC I have lost a quarter of an inch in total and that was last Friday. Should be more by now.
-I started doing the grit classes at the gym and yesterday I kept up with the bleep test (bench burpees) right the way through for the first time
- I have been exercising before and after work which I haven't managed since last summer and always struggle with unless it is summer
- I have taken 2 minutes off my average mile pace since I started running again last April. This wasn't planned it just happened as I got into running again. I just need to find time for some longer runs now to build stamina up but my iron is low at the moment so I'm waiting until I feel more energetic

Pass day 2
Did I exercise for at least 20 minutes?
Yes. No problem there
Did I stay within my calorie budget for the day?
No. Big lunch, out of groceries dinner time and went for fast food. Not terribly over, but have to plan if having surplus calories for dinner
Did I keep track of everything I ate and drank?
No. Gave up when the waitress put the menu on the table
NSV. I purchased new waterproof hikers and pants and now don’t have to think twice about getting the mut out the door, even when the rain is coming down sideways, which it often does this time of year

Wow. Some great reads today. From @craigo3154 steel fingertipped chin ups and miscellaneous rodents to @brangisco having a very bad, terrible, horrible day and sharing it with us, all the way through to the lesson we all learn over and over. And Mr. Grumpy Husband sounds pretty familiar! So good that you worked through to the sunset. Breathe and enjoy.
I had an intense day for exercise. An hour with my trainer who upped the ante quite a bit for my next month. I'm not sure if that makes me feel all amazing and badass or exhausted just thinking about it. Then the usual hike back up from car to house in the deep snow my own Mr. Grumpy hasn't cleared yet. Then an hour rehearsing some intense Bach, back down and up the hill again, shovelling MORE snow for an hour, and I was hungry enough to eat my own (well toned!) arm.
Luckily I managed to cook something way tastier. NSV
All tracked and well within calories.8 -
Yes x 3. I got a rebounder and did a routine on it then hopped on the bike for 20 minutes.
My NSV was yesterday. I was walking and I found myself feeling so light on my feet and energetic that I actually had to stop myself from running. (The sidewalk was really crowded, so that wouldn't have worked all that well!) I remember feeling that way years ago, but my slothful and sedentary self could hardly remember it.8 -

It rained in the valley today but I still took the pups for a walk over the Wetlands. We were missing a pack member but someone has to go to work and take one for the team
NSV’s - I love reading everyone’s NSV’s!
• I can walk 5 miles in one go now without having to stop and catch my breath
• My arthritis no longer hurts when I walk
• I fit comfortably in an airplane seat
• I’m 4 sizes smaller than when I started this journey
• My sister gave me a compliment about my weight loss and she doesn’t give anything out
But my biggest NSV is I am a happy person. Every day I count my blessings and give thanks, Attitude of Gratitude!

My NSVs:
1) today was the first time that I did 3 sets of 100 skips within 3 minutes.
2) working with new trainer is pushing me to do new exercises that force me beyond my comfort zone
3) added weight to my lat pull down exercise

Yes x3. HIIT and core workout.
NSV is that I was able to deadlift my body weight this week. It’s not that impressive for a deadlift but I’m slowly regaining strength and lifting heavier.6 -
Nope nope but I tracked it all. Pass #1. An unexpected day of yuck.
@ trimi1104. Why is the woo considered a negative here? All 5 options seem positive to me I’m sure the serial wooer is encouraging you or rather ... was. You have my promise to never woo you.
@brangisco. I had a cry day too and I also keep my paper goods in the garage. I hope you had a good rest.5 -
Exercise: yes, walked
Tracked: yes

Love reading the NSVs!! Mine is from last weekend when I went shoe shopping.... Apparently my feet have even lost weight. I had noticed that they look bonier and more slim but was amazed to find that they look good in certain styles that were always too narrow for me. I wasn't 100% sold in the fact that they were smaller until I tried on a pair of my own sandals from last year that I barely wore cause they were too tight.... Tried them on and the are much looser now!5 -

@brangisco. Sounds like a "train wreck" of a day. Glad you decided to be good to yourself at the end of the day.
The best part is that it sounds like got some positives and some self realisations out of it. This is where growth really starts..... By identifying problems. Once identified, way to remedy can be worked on.
Happy too that you did some activity and you did track.
“Tomorrow is a new day with no mistakes in it... Yet.”
― L.M. Montgomery, Anne of Green Gables
Take tomorrow as a new day land learn from yesterday. However, do not try compensate for the mistakes of yesterday (they are gone and cannot be changed). Just do the best you can each day learning from yesterday.3 -
Nsv will have to move a button on a pair of work trousers, much too loose now!7

My non scale victory is that I am off the scale! That is really a miracle for me as I weighed every day and was always stressing over it. I am working on the process of the journey and the journey being the goal. That is helping me to understand that exercise and eating well are a life time goal. I have not been in the winners circle yet and I have had a melt down for a few days, but that is life and living. If I look at it all as a journey that is a process, it is much better for my perspectives on food and the eating of it...more for fuel that anything else.
I have planned rest days in my coaching plan and since I race at age 61 I need a day here or there....so being in the winners circle is not my end result. My end result is being accountable.
And as such......I swam 550m yesterday
I tracked my meals and ate what I tracked!
Today (Friday) for lunch, a friend and I are going out to eat for Korean BBQ. So I will have to figure out how to track what I ate.5 -

I never figured "woo" to be derogatory. But I guess it ain't none of my business.
I just see it between "like" and "hug" and don't figure there can be anything bad in that spectrum. Heh. Maybe you are coming from a harsher place than what I am used to.
(I gave you a "woo." Hope that don't hurt too much.)4 -
Always love reading the posts on the mid month NSV day! You're all doing brilliantly!4

Thought I had posted yesterday but I think I fell asleep before I actually hit the post reply.
Yesterday was pass day #3. Really struggling with my ankle yesterday and could even get through my pt exercises. Ice, rest, elevate again.
Tracked - yes
Calories- yes but it was close
Nsv - making healthier choices and realizing when I want to stress eat.
