Hello UAC April 2018 members!
Some of you have been with this challenge for months and some are brand new. This is one of the hardest challenges to stay with throughout the entire month. FOCUS, FOCUS, FOCUS!! Log every BLT (Bite, Lick, Taste). Stay strong and true to yourself....YOU WILL SUCCEED!!
Please feel free to share as much information as you feel comfortable sharing about yourself with the rest of the group. I look forward to getting to know all of you a little better. GOOD LUCK!

Opting in for what will be my twelfth month month. 49yo father of one from Australia. Started tracking weight and food when I realised I was heading for obese for the first time in my life. UAC has been helping keep me honest and on track. Have now exceeded initial goal weight and lost over 25kg (50 lbs) and in full maintenance since September 2017.
UAC is helped me create good, sustainable habits with the help of a wonderfully supportive group.

Good morning from the Atlanta, Georgia area. I've been on this journey since December 2014. I lost a little over 30 pounds and have hovered at about the same weight (give or take 10) for the past couple of years. This year, I have 27 pounds to lose to reach my goal weight. While March has not been my best month this year, I'm looking forward to April and warmer weather to kick it back into high gear. My journey is most successful when I consistently focus on sufficient sleep, good stress management, whole foods (nothing highly processed), regular activity and consistent logging in MFP.7

Hello everyone. First time joining this challenge. Looking for accountability and a good kick in the behind. Have about 80 or so to lose. The kids are finally all off on their own, so I hope I have enough time freed up to really focus on me for once!6

First month and I'm excited! I'm 30 from NE Mississippi. This is my second major attempt T weightloss. I lost 70lbs in 2012/2013 but gained it all back. I started back again 1/1/18 at 225 and this morning I was below 194. My ultimate goal is 140 and since I turn 31 this month, I'd love to be down to 180 which is close to my prepregnancy weight back in 2013 (I'd gotten to 154).5

Hello, Nani from Houston here. I am working on dropping about 10 lbs to get the shape I really want. I slacked for the last 2 years and gained a few pounds. For April I want to drop a steady 1 lb/week.5

Hey y'all! April will be my third month with UAC, I LOVE it and have lost almost 10 lbs in two months...I know it's thanks to the accountability in calorie tracking. Mini goal is to loose 15 lbs by June. Totally doable if I stay honest here and up my cardio game. Also I'd love to actually make the winners circle!7

Maddy here, first time with this type of challenge but I'm ready to dive in! I started at 202 lbs and am hovering between 192-196 lbs. Hoping this helps me get to my goal! 170!!6

Hello everyone, I have reached a point in my life where I am ready to DO THIS THING! I gave birth in 2017 to my 2nd child and it is time to lose this weight. I have been at this since January 2018. I am down 30.4 lbs so far this year by learning how to fuel my body...really focused on nutrition. I have not exercised at all! So, I would love some accountability and a group to share in this journey and help get me moving!4

Hi everyone! I’m a 43 yo science teacher chiming in from the Philadelphia, PA area. This is my second month joining the challenge. I am working hard to drop weight to get it off of my injured foot to make recovery speedier and hopefully less painful. I gained back much of the weight I lost 3 yrs ago this past year. I have actually enjoyed trying some new ways to exercise that I wouldn’t have thought of doing before. I am only supposed to be doing a small deficit since my body is healing so I only lost two pounds in March but lost an entire pant size3

Hi. I'm back to this challenge after falling of the wagon last year (and it was going well for several months). I know how to do this, I just need to build the habit back up and cope with the comfort eating.3

Hello everyone. Joining for the first time
Need accountability with my food. Easy for me to get into my trigger foods and not stop
I am pretty good with my activity, so my goal is to stay accountable to my food intake to meet my calorie goal for the day
I am hoping to get the support and challenge I need here
Thanks everyone5 -
Ok, sod it, I'm in for April as well. I dwelled a bit, wasn't sure, but I don't see myself keeping accountable if I don't join something like this. Second month around for me.
Technically speaking, I have only one race in April so one pass, unless I screw up. Oh and my birthday but I'm not sure what I'll do then, it's a weird day, I may party like it's my last day of life or I may ignore it completely. We'll see.
BTW, I'm a triathlete now more or less maintaining the weight I reached. Wouldn't mind to lose some more but my body thinks otherwise. Guess you won't see a slip off my training schedule but I risk plenty on the diet side. Will try to be a bit more present and write a bit more, too.4 -
Hello!
I am getting towards my goal, and am finding it very difficult to stay focused for the last 10 lbs. I keep thinking that this is enough, if my body wanted to be at a lower weight then it would be easier to lose weight. (ignoring all of the easter candy that has crept into the house and such).
The accountability is what I am after right now, as I thrive in pass/fail environments. I find the discipline to be very helpful.4 -
I go by Orange. I'm fluffy like a panda, but I would like to get healthy. I'm a housewife and homeschooling mom. I feel like I never have enough time, but I really want to focus! Thanks for the future support!5

I'm back for a 3rd month! This group has been great, and the simplicity of the rules, as well as the strictness of honesty, have been helpful. I'm maintaining my weight at this point. I lost 35 pounds about 6 years ago, and the fluctuations have not been too bad. The discipline of an exercise and tracking routine did their job, even though I was in menopause - the weight is gone and I'm not taking it back! Keeping track and not slipping. Always.
I am 64, recently retired, I live in rural Québec (Canada). I'm a musician and help take care of the 3 wonderful horses my daughter and I have together. Getting ready for hiking and horseback riding season. Putting away the snowshoes soon, I hope...4 -
Hi everyone and welcome and welcome back to many! I've been losing and gaining the same pounds for months. If I'd just been losing, I'd be at my goal weight. Life is hectic and I make excuses that I'm working and studying and have a toddler... but we only have one life. I need to make sure I find the time to eat right and move and prioritise that. Being healthy needs to be up there in my biggest priorities. I gave up crisps (chips to some of you) bread and chocolate for lent and was losing 2 pounds a week. Then I got ill and broke the fast and ate them... Guess what? I put back on those pounds. So I'm planning on cutting them out again for April and seeing how I get on. I'm also going to focus on more protein and fewer carbs (tricky for this veggie) and getting to the gym at least twice a week for classes. See you all on April Fools Day!4

Hi! I’m so glad I found you all! I’ve got 8-8.4 lbs until my BMI slips below 25! I’ve lost 50lbs at about a pound a week with a couple of maintenance breaks.
I exercise a minimum of 30 mins a day and walk at least 5K steps as well, I have tracked everything I’ve eaten and weighed myself daily for 179 days, so this seems like the perfect group as I’m shifting my mindset from weight loss and walking to weight maintenance & fitness!
Thanks!!7 -
Hi guys. I am Alan, 57 y.o. and live in southeast Arkansas. This is my second month on this challenge. I lost 95 pounds last year and am in maintenance. My goal is to stay in the 210-215 range. My step goal is 12,000/day. Good luck to everyone.4

Hi, I'm Rick.
I live near Chicago in the western suburbs. I'm a grandpa, husband, dad. I really enjoy horseback riding in the warm season. I live on a farm, but I practice law as an estate planning, tax and long-term care attorney.
My wife is Rose and I sometimes post from Phoenix, Arizona where we have a condo. I look forward to meeting all of you and I especially appreciate @craigo3154 for serving as co-leader and many times he provides enthusiastic encouragement to other team members. He is also a wise man who shares insight too.
Thanks, Rick6 -
Hi all:) I'm here for the first time and am happy to find a challenge that doesn't require weighing in every week. I've been encouraged to toss my scale and pay more attention to how my body feels. If I eat right and exercise, the weight will come off. I think this challenge will help hold me accountable.
I'm 54 and live in the midwest. I'm a wife, mother, and grandmother. I want to be healthy and active so I can enjoy my family and retirement when it happens in a few years. Please feel free to friend me!6 -
Excited to be back here again! My first time was last month but I didn’t survive beyond mid month with all my food outings so used up my passes pretty quickly.
This month I’m really focusing on controlling my food intake when I eat out because that’s my biggest weakness. No self control there !4 -
I'm thinking about joining this challenge...worried though because I start a new job Monday (April 2) morning as a BAKER...ugh! I am HOPING that I don't have to taste everything. I won't find out until Monday. I thought maybe if I take this job that I would get sick and tired of smelling and seeing sweets4
-
OK...I joined...I'm up for a challenge I'm from south central PA ...living about a half an hour from Gettysburg. I was self-employed for years as a quilter/ seamstress, but closed the business at the end of 2017. Now I had to get 2 "real" jobs: a greeting card merchandiser, and soon, a baker (see above posting). I think I will have to take my first "pass" on April 1st though- Easter dinner!4
-
I’m back to try again...made the winners circle in January but have surpassed my pass days the past two months, oops! I’ll keep trying, though! I’m hoping the warmer weather that is starting to show itself a little will tempt me into keeping more active & eating better!2

Welcome to you all!2
