First Smoothie Recipe!!!

Smoothies have definitely contributed to my weight loss so I'm so excited to try out everyone's recipes!! I have a ton to share but here are two good ones I really like.

Super food Smoothie

This one mainly consists of super foods, (hence the name lol). This helps me to get in my greens for the day and you can't even taste the vegetables! This is good for anytime of the day!

-2 handfuls of spinach
-1 handful of kale
-1/4 cup orange juice
-10 baby carrots
- 1 ripe banana
-1/2 cup plain non-fat greek yogurt
-1 cup of frozen mixed berries

*Blend spinach, kale and OJ together first then add the rest of the ingredients and blend until smooth.

Avocado & Banana Smoothie

I only buy avocados once in a while but when I do I always use them in smoothies. This is my go-to avocado smoothie. It contains a good amount of fiber so it should fill you up for a while.

-1/4 avocado, peeled and cubed
-1/2 an apple chopped
- 1 cup of spinach
- 1/2 a frozen banana
- 3/4 cup unsweetened almond milk

*Blend all ingredients together until smooth. Serves 1 for around 240 calories.

I'll have to try those recipes as I struggle with vegetables.

This morning I had a basic but yummy smoothie:

*1 scoop of Body Fortress Vanilla Protein Powder
    *1/2 cup of frozen blackberries
*1/2 cup of frozen pineapple chunks
*a few ice cubes with a bit of water.

    It was delicious!
  • Green smoothies are the best and you get all of the nutrients without even knowing it, MY go to Smoothie ( all though I have many)

    Strawberry banana:

    1/2c frozen strawberries
    1 banana frozen
    2cups spinach or kale
    1cut unsweet vanilla almond milk
I like my smoothies thick so I freeze all of my fruits
you can also freeze your greens they work GREAT

Can't wait to try some of these. Here is a quick one I like:

    1 c Spinach
    1/2 banana
    1 c frozen strawberries
    1/4 or 1/2 c frozen blueberries
    Top up with water

I blend it in my bullet, swap the tops, toss in a straw, and I am off! If I happen to have chilled herbal tea in the fridge I use that instead of just plain water. And sometimes will add in a couple spoons of yogurt. Just depends on what I have on hand. :)

    These all look so good!!
    :
My favorite is pretty simple and tastes like one of the slushies I loved during childhood.

    1 cup frozen mango
    1-2 cups frozen strawberries
    1 cup coconut water
    1 cup kale
    1/2 cup spinach
(optional) water if it's a little too thick for your taste

I blend everything in the nutribullet. This makes three cups for 242-294 calories, depending on whether you use one or two cups of strawberries.

Hmmm, I'm glad to see a couple of banana-free recipes up there! Can't wait to try them. If you have a smoothie recipe with banana that doesn't taste like banana I'm willing to try it, but I really don't like the flavor!

    My most common smoothie:

    1.5 cups mixed frozen berries
.5 cup non-fat plain Greek yogurt
1 cup almond milk (unsweetened original)
.5 tablespoon chia seeds and/or flax seeds
optional: 1 cup spinach or other greens

Play with the amount of almond milk that you want- my bf likes his thin and almost watery, I prefer them thick! If we have frozen mango or pineapple I'll throw that in instead.

Basics. Greek yogurt a half or whole cup
    Banana
    Protein powder
    Flax seed

Then I mix it with whatever produce I have, strawberries, peaches, apples, spinach, kale, avocado, cherries, celery or pineapple. You just have to mix it up and find what combinations you like. I then thin it out with some ice and water and enjoy!
  • All these recipes sound great!! Thanks for adding and keep them coming!!!

    This mornings smoothie
    Small handfull frozen blueberries
    1 scoop protein powder
    2 tbsp plain yoghurt
    2tbsp cottage cheese
    1 tsp Metamucil
    1 tsp flax seed oil
    Pinch cinnamon
    Around 1 cup water

Blitz with a stick blender. I often take this to work for ouch just keep in the fridge and give it a shake at lunchtime.
I find it keeps me full, and I enjoy the taste. I like my smoothies quite thick, and I read recently that a thicker smoothie keeps you full for longer.... Who knows but it certain ally doesn't feel like a hardship to drink. :)

    My typical morning smoothie is:

    5 strawberries
    1/3 c blueberries
    1/3 c pineapple
    1/2 to 1 whole banana
    1/4c cranberry juice
Handful of greens - Kale, spinach or Chard, usually.
    1/4 - 1/2 c almond milk
    1/2 tsp turmeric
    1/2 tsp spirulina

I've been making that, with the occasional variation (mulberries, mango, cherries) for about a year now, and I love it.

But I decided to get all crazy last week, with delicious results!

1/2 baked sweet potato (scooped out of peel)
1 medium honeycrisp apple, peeled and cored
    1 medium banana
    1/2 - 3/4 c almond milk
    1/4 tsp turmeric
    1/2 tsp cinnamon
    1/4 tsp ginger

I have a smoothie almost every day. I am looking forward to trying some of these other great ideas.

I make my smoothie in a large protien shaker (about 800ml)

    My morning smoothie is:

    1/2 shaker cup of ice
1 cup of mixed frozen berries
    1 large banana
    1 scoop of protien powder
    1 cup of skim milk.

some days to change the flavor I will add peanut butter to the mix or substitute orange juice for the milk.

I've been obsessed with protein smoothies lately which I've always been adverse to when it came to working out, but I think they have helped me tremendously in maintaining and building muscle and burning fat. Although lately I've been trying to use less superfood powders and using more real superfoods. But Ive been loving just concocting different smoothies either they be wins or fails. They're fun to try.

My pre-workout smoothie this morning...(not too pretty but delicious)

    4 cubes ive
    1 cup PACIFIC oat milk
    1/4 cup water
1 scoop TROPEAKA Lean Vanilla Protein
    1 tsp TROPEAKA Alkaline Greens
    Handful of spinach
    Handful of Blackberries
    1 tsp Ground Flax seeds
    1/2 medium sized banana
