My wife is a volunteer at the North Mountain Preserve in Phoenix. This photo was taken in the relatively new Phoenix park system, Sonoran Desert Preserve on the far north side of the city.
It's a wonderful place to hike, bike or ride horses.8 -
I cannot take credit for many of the photos that I use to open our daily discussions. Today’s photo was taken in the desert park where I am hiking today. The photo was not taken by me. It is a beautiful and accurate photo of this preserve.2

I love these photos they are so different from anything I see in New Zealand! I have been in other deserts around the world, so I can appreciate how it feels

Longer golfing season lol. Time to get moving loads of things to do. Granted I don't know about you @w8goal4life we have snow on the ground 2" hope it's gone by the end of the day.5 -

I'm so happy the new steam cooker and food scale (both compact and easy to carry as I travel) saved my dinner. I'd be munching on cold canned stuff now or spending way too much to stay in a self catering place rather than a cheap motel, or blowing my diet alright. Instead I made some pretty healthy cous cous with steamed veggies and tuna in my hotel room. Wow!!!8 -

I was with a friend who like poor @LoraineGB had a bad experience with cholla after posing a bit too closely to it for a photo. We were pulling spikes out of her head and back for about half an hour. We met in Bolivia and she sent me a message about 3 months later from her home of Australia to say she'd just pulled out, hopefully, the last one, yes, 3 months later! So some of these photos make me
@2020pinktogo enjoy the well deserved rest - they're so lucky you do so much for them.
@trimi1104 that's great! When's the next race? Tomorrow? Good luck!
@fatbambi2017 what a busy day. I loved qi gong when I tried it! I got to get in my garden today to so know exactly what you mean! Felt brilliant. I dug up some weeds and showed my 2 year old some worms which she was fascinated by!
@oykucan sounds like loads of varied exercise this weekend, lucky you! The boxing sounds exhausting - you have great stamina!
Yes x 3 for today but it was a close call with calories. Exercise: walking, gardening and heavy housework (moving furniture to vacuum. Had an urge to do spring cleaning!)
@RangerRickL normally asks us for some NSVs mid month but I'm going to share two from today before I forget!
1. I live in the centre of an old market town in England. Today was a big spring food market with lots of stalls right on my doorstep: bbq, roast, Thai, burritos, falafel, paella, ice cream, about ten bakery stalls, crepes, churros etc and I chose not to have any! Real success will be when I'm in maintenance and can have a treat in moderation but for now sometimes I need to go without so I'm pleased I was able to resist.
2. We went out hiking in the woods with our daughter who turned 2 in February. She managed to walk/run most of the 3-4 miles! So my NSV is bringing her up to be strong, fit and healthy. Lots was uphill too!6 -

Here is my grand-dog. Teddy spent the week with us this last week. His family came to pick him up today.

My report:
Started the day with sharp pain in the lower back. Really a challenge to get my socks and hiking boots on. Very unusual as I do not have a history of back problems. I suspect that my poor form as I try new TRX exercises is to blame for over stress in my lower back.
Exercise: hiking in the desert
Tracking: ok
Calories: under by modest margin3 -
