So, I am 6 years post-op, and I have failed miserably. I have gained back 40 lbs and am completely miserable. I have gone back to eating anything and everything. I am at the point that I think I have stretched my stomach back out as I can eat almost as much at a single sitting as in pre-op.
So my question is where do I go from here??? Has anyone else been in this dark hole and can give me some advice? What are my options, of course besides getting my daily intake back on track which I am back on myfitness pal. Are there surgical options? Anything you guy have for advice I am willing to listen!
Thank you for taking time to read about my failure and if you choose to pass on some advice I will forever be grateful!

First of all, stop thinking of yourself as a failure! Beating up on yourself is never helpful. Weight is a life-long struggle for all of us, and most of us experience some regain. I'm 5 years out from surgery and put 35lbs back on in years 3-4. I've lost 20 of it and am still trying to get rid of the rest.
What helped me is going back to basics. Small meals, no snacking unless I'm truly hungry and taking time to always stop and assess whether or not I'm full. Some days I do great, and others I fall face first into a bag of popcorn (my son works at the local theater and always comes home with lots). The important thing is to keep trying.

Yeah, get that "failure" word out of your head. If you've gained 40lbs back six years out that's pretty good in my book. My guess is that you lost much more than 40lbs. I don't know ANYONE who had wls that lost all the weight they wanted and never gained a pound back and lived happily ever after. Weight will fluctuate.
My suggestiong would be to concentrate on diet and eat as little processed food as possible. Especially SUGAR. When I really tightened up my food choices I was able to get to a healthy weight and eat basically what I want within certain parameters. That being said, I don't have any "off-limits" foods. I indulge from time to time but am smart about. You can do this. Take it one day at a time.5
