Time to get moving.
No need to make your "heart gargle in your throat." Unless that's what you're into.
Active April is about making your goal an improvement in your fitness. As Elizabeth Benton always says, "Whatever constitutes an improvement for YOU. Do that."
So whether you want to train for a 5k or 10k, start HIITing your head off, or just start exercising, period, it's all good.
If your exercise is already on-point, but you'd like to increase your daily NEAT burn, that's a great target as well. (What is NEAT, consult this thread from which I have been inspired: http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/10610953/neat-improvement-strategies-to-improve-weight-loss/p1)
There will be a sticky at the top of the group with a list of the weekly threads should our thread get buried in this (awesome) group.
Go ahead and post your goals.
Update us daily and receive encouragement and support from your compatriots in the challenge.
Go get it!

Our 'oddly specific' activity goal for this month is to burn 28,882 'active calories', according to our fitness watch. We're at 20,420 right now, which is a wee bit behind schedule. BUT the weather is looking good so we can pick up the pace with more outdoor activities!
This morning we did a 6km walk, with a 10 minute break for some time on a swingset lol!(The kids love swings, and it's actually a bit of a workout to get going really high / fast.)

When I tried to "star" this thread and some others today, a message flashed up and said I need "vanilla discussions" and "to view permissions." Would not let me star it.
Never happened before....
Anyone know what that's about???

No idea. MFP is just being buggy as far as I know. I'll go look and see if they've posted a scheduled maintenance or anything.1

Despite a minor training injury this past week, I have been keeping up with my goals. I will need to make sure I do a couple extra things this week, but that shouldn't be a problem.2

No announcement. They did something that broke the hide feature for the Chit Chat forums.
It's doing it to me, too, re: the bookmarks. If it's still doing it tomorrow, maybe I'll post in the MF about it.1 -
Today's activity was mowing the lawn. Not my favorite but it needed done before the three days of rain begins tomorrow.2

After a week of babying myself I'm back at it. Slept for crap last night (sick kid, so I've been up since 2) but still got to the gym.
Workout 4
RDL - 3x5 @ 110 pounds
Pushups - 4x8
Inverted Rows - 4x8
I feel I'm making progress finally in pushups and inverted rows. They're a little hard to gauge for me since I have to do both modified, but I'm modifying less.2 -

Those push-ups!They are right up there with lunges for me. I do them anyway, but still...ugh.

ME TOO! I figure since they're the two I hate they're probably the two I need the most. Ick.1 -

Probably so true. Still hates them, I does.
I'm so behind ova here.
Sat got over 14k. Lovely day for a walk and working on the redneck woman tan I have going.
Sun no exercise but got over 5k NEAT steps.
Yesterday was strength but I added 15min cardio. Almost 7k in steps overall.
Today is just cardio. But I have a bazillion things to do including taking my oldest to get her learner's permit. Short on time. I may have to do some shortish heart-gurgling-in-my-throat interval stuff. Haven't decided.
I hate being stuck in the car.
Off to do the things.1 -
So bookmarks:
It's a thing. I'm guessing when they broke the other thing, it broke that too but there's a thread about it.

With son's wedding over, I can finish the month strong. Brought my socks/sneaks to walk at lunch Tue-Wed, will be spinning Thurs and found an upper body workout I think I can stick with for Friday.1
-
Low heart rate cardio - elliptical, no hills, level 1 13:00/hour1
-
Last night I did a 22 Minute Hard Corp resistance workout.2
-
Did some walking Sat, Sun, Mon. After Monday's walk, decided it was time for some new walking shoes. My feet are all sore and blistered where the soles have worn away. >_<1
-
Monday was a good day with almost 12k neat steps on a strength day and 19 flights of stairs. Yesterday I got in 18k steps that included a jog and a dog walk in the rain. Looking for that break in Ohio’s weather to run outside.1
-
Got over 10k steps yesterday for the first time in months. Walking at lunch again today1
-
Got in 7k steps. I did a HIIT Cardio vid, not all that counted as steps, but I'm sore today. Chaos Mode was included gifting us surprise burpees randomly. Lovely...
I was stuck on my cushy derriere at the DMV for a bit and it takes almost an hour to get anywhere and back from my house. I fidgeted like I'd had a quadruple espresso though.2 -
Planned day off. The kids are in an art show this afternoon so I'm working from home this morning. Kind of a good thing. Today would have been a lifting day and my hamstrings are still really sore from Monday. So I'll lift tomorrow.3
-
Over 5k. Vigorous strength training yesterday.
Fidgeted and was as inefficient as possible.
Cardio today. Still no walking available as the rains have come and don't seem inclined to leave.1 -
Squat - 5x5 @ 40
OHP - 1x5 @ 50, 3x5 @ 40, 1x4 @ 40 - failed last rep and I don't push too crazy when it could mean dropping 40 pounds on my head.
Narrow grip pulldown - 5x5@852 -
Wednesday managed 15k steps and 12 flights of stairs which included a dog walk and a 20 minute jog. Felt like I sat a lot so I will try to move a bit more between meetings.1
-
24th I did a Hard Corp cardio and last night a Hard Corp resistance video. Tonight I go see Infinity Wars so rest day!1
-
Thursday totaled almost 14k steps on a strength day and 19 flights of stairs. Diet has been on point and the scale is reflecting it!1
-
I worked out pretty hard. Didn't get more than 7k steps though. I met 8 of the 9 Nagbit blips. But I just don't want to move during deficit or something. Plus, since we're flooding the earth ova here, I just can't stretch my legs properly with a good walk. More raining today.
Strength day. I need to add some walk videos on the end of my strength workout.
I could use the Dreadmill...but it's situated in the Devil's Navel (aka. the dark depressing basement.) I might do it. I need to charge my tablet so I can Netflix during or something...if I can find my charger. The problem in living in a house with 6 people, is that 5 other people MOVE YOUR STUFF, and it gets lost.1 -
We're closing in on our april activity goal, but it's gonna be right down to the wire I think. The 'oddly specific' goal our fitness watch gave us was 28,882 active calories burned. We're at 25,035 with 3 and a half days to go. Gonna make a big push this weekend to try and hit the goal on Sunday, but if not, we'll get there Monday.1
-
Friday I climbed 21 flights of stairs at work and hit almost 16k steps on a strength day that included a two mile dog walk and a short jog. Today my NEAT steps are a bit lower but I intend a 5k run later this afternoon so that will bolster overall steps. This month has been fun so I plan to continue parking farther from my building to walk more as well as roam the halls between meetings to continue being more active throughout the day.1
-
Got just over 10k steps yesterday. Strength and 3 walk/jog vids.
Today it finally dried out so I walked for an hr and have over 12k steps thusfar.
About 4k of those was NEAT plus passing with my oldest before her game.
Now she's off learning to drive in a parking lot (first lesson) so I'm sitting here biting my nails wondering how she's doing. Being neurotic burns calories, right?2 -

The fitness watch challenged us to burn 28,882 'active calories' and as of this afternoon we're at 28,915!6 -
Finished the month strong with 2 spin classes and an elliptical workout. Continuing increased activity into May.1
