We have Amish friends in the state of Indiana. The Amish use horses for pulling the farm implements and their buggies. Here is one of my Amish friends with a six horse hitch of Belgian draft horses ready to plow his field.

I wonder if Amish horses wear shoes, are shod? I think about the labor intensity of hooking up all of those horses as opposed to just turning a key in an ignition. Then I think about all of the other labor horses need. Man o man! A buddy of mine has some thoroughbred horses.
He is older than me and he is still taking care of like 20 horses. His horses don't wear shoes. So he is off the hook for 80 shoes for however often that needs to be done. I wonder if you have to have strong arms to get that many plow horses to turn?
My buddy with all of those horses, his wife has arthritis so she rigged a special bridle with strings that go through rings on saddle straps. She say it's kind of like power steering.

Could not get a good pace today no matter how I tried. May need more rest, or more calories.
Flying in the car park again tonight. Flew well. I seem to be getting used to the pace.

It's been a long day, and I'm totally shattered tonight. Still haven't eaten yet, so gonna grab a bite now.

Calories? Yes, within my allowance. I may be upping calories as my BMI is slightly below where it should be, now; although the month long vacation from mid-June to mid-July without tracking will probably put me back in line with where I should be.
