Ivor Cummins posted this a while back. It's LONG, but it's a worthwhile watch on how some are trying to change dietary and medical advice for the better.
It's a recorded panel talk at the European Parliament in Brussels

So glad I took the time to watch this. It's amazing how hard organizations, corporations and others will fight to keep the public blind to what is best for them. I applaud these doctors, scientists, and many others out there who are trying to open our eyes. Case in point......I had no idea that higher cholesterol, even LDL was beneficial for folks over 60 years of age. Great video!1

Now we need something like this in North America....1

Now we need something like this in North America....
As more "baby boomers" are covered by Medicare in the USA and the other taxpayers are footing the bill for our healthcare expect the actuaries to get the ear of the taxpayers. The waste in medical spending is a crime that is often killing us today and bankrupting the future of our kids tomorrow was my take away from UN forum.

Can you imagine the government making it harder for people to buy highly refined and processed foods? i think it is easier for them to stick to the status quo.

Our kids are now 20 and when they were like 10 (2007 election cycle) one day in the car from the back seat our daughter said, We kids know more than you think and we know you adults are messing up our future.
They are not going to cotton to footing our healthcare costs and they will change the government over time I expect and make heads roll. She has started a biology degree and her freshman class they covered carbs, protein and fats as well as the origin of life, genetics, etc. What she was taught about eating actually reflects current science and not what was taught in medical schools even 10 years ago.
The change in mindsets even on MFP forums over the past four years about different WOE's has been mind boggling and changes are starting to pick up speed in a positive way. You have key option shapers getting mainstream media attention.
McDonalds moving to never frozen 100% beef quarter pound patties is just on thing they are doing to tap into the LCHF customer demands. I can get a keto meal anywhere in the country it seems since that was the case at McDonald's inside the Orlando Airport a few months ago. Heck even Roseanne Barr is changing her tune.
Eating to prevent and or reverse serious health issues like type 2 diabetes and obesity in general seems to becoming more the norm in some circles not still not with the middle age+ groups so much that are still big into drinking, smoking, etc locally but even some of that group mentions MFP, ect more and more.
In short I see a 'sea change' in progress in the minds of people when it comes to health and healthcare. More and more are saying they will not do chemo because the success rate sucks and it can make ones last days even worse than nothing. I think the conference said like 800,000 more died due to taking statins or some other treatment than if nothing had been prescribed?
This conference was not make up of promoters of books, etc like we see in some of the keto events around the world. The EC is in danger of collapsing under the weight of low birth rates of the citizens and the high birth rate of the immigrants and the cost of immigration itself.
Eating some of the worst food sources in the history of human is killing of the world. Today a 65 year old guy who never took care of his health was found dead in his shop on the farm. From family sources the first guess was it was a heart attack. That gets the attention of his generation more these days with all the health stories in the news and media in general.
Governments that do not support this sea change will FAIL sooner than later. Yes things are changing.
