It's been 6 weeks since last intervention, while doc didn't change any meds he said "see you in a year." Must be doing Ok.

Of course, it's "Medical Whack-a-Mole" with the rest of my body so I have to pay attention. Stuff will be falling off next.

Love that "see you in a year" line. My PCP says that, then schedules 6 mos. I think the Cardiac Nurse Practitioner I see worries more than ANY of the doctors. She schedules 6 weeks.

Reading between the lines, it sounds like both you guys are doing ok or better--hope it continues. One day, 6 weeks, 6 months, a year--as long as it continues it's all good, right?

That’s great. I get into this thing where my anxiety is greater than the Drs. I elected to make a couple of additional trips to the urologist. That’s right, the urologist.

“Medical Whack-A-Mole” - I’ll be stealing that one Sandy.

Great news Sandy! My heart is the only thing holding together it seems, though I don't take it for granted. I am not in a hurry to revisit ICU! 6 weeks, 6 months a year as long as it is down the line is all good. Keep up the good work taking care of yourself!

On Wednesday at Cardiac Rehab the education was about "Sodium". So I went back and started calculating sodium in my diet, specifically my Zero Point Chicken Chili. Oh My! Over 1000mg and the daily limit is less than 2000mg. Gotta work that down some.

In the last week and I average around 3500mg daily. This may be harder than I thought.

@mr_sandyman You'll probably find that if you seek out low or no salt added beans, your Na level should drop alot.

All those canned veggies add sodium but you can look for low/no salt and or rinse before adding. My weight went up after FREE Turkey Chili I started eating in January. Got it under control now.

Agreed. I make Gavin's 10can Chili all the time, often with chicken breast. I buy low sodium beans and rinse them, same with corn if I can find it. Helps alot. I also make my own seasoning. Then I salt to taste. Drops the salt significantly.

The DASH eating plan (free) would give a lot of hints of ways to cut sodium . I think the National Heart,Lung, and blood Institute developed this one to lower blood pressure etc. Some good ideas out there.
