What and how much does everybody eat in a day if you're 2 years post op? I had vsg 2 years ago. Was 264 am now 183. Usually 177 but have been snacking a lot. I still want to lose more weight but I'm a slow loser.

I'm 3+ years post op and eat all day. Mostly whole foods. Calories aren't relevant to me but I probably AVERAGE around 3,000. I eat A LOT of natural fat. Maintaining 200lbs weight loss.0

Pinklola, I'm 3.5 years post-op. I still use my food scales or measuring tools to control my portions. I usually eat between 5 and 6 ounces. If I have a salad I can eat up to 8 ounces, 3 ounces of protein and 5 ounces of tomato/lettuce etc. I did ask the dietitian about this and she said that 8 ounces was fine if I had a salad because those vegetables are mostly water. Calorie wise I try to keep my calories less than 1200 per day. If I eat more then I have to really exercise to keep from gaining weight. At 1200 per day I can do 10k steps and not experience any gain. That's just the DNA I was dealt.
I continue to weigh my food because in the past pre-surgery portion control was a real issue for me. I'm not a grazer but do plan snacks within my calorie allowance.
Yesterday I met a friend at Dairy Queen, I had the jr burger and small fries. I ate the burger and part of the fries and I was miserable after eating. I really just ate too much with the amount of restriction I had. Although I felt bad I was secretly happy because I know my restriction is still working the way it should.
I was a slow loser and that was the best thing for me. Things that I did to lose the weight became part of my normal habit so celebrate and embrace your slow loss.1 -
i'm 4 yrs out and i still measure. though i'd been eating things i shouldnt have been eating, and I gained 14lbs from my lowest weight. i'm back to basics again and watching/logging every thing that i eat. i still feel the restriction, so i'm still only eating about 4-5 ounces at a meal. always protein first and if i can, i'll eat veges. Usually i can't.2
