Exercised?: Yes. Walked 5km in 37mins (hills)
Calories?: Yes
Tracked?: Yes
Family outing to Healesvills Sanctuary today. Saw the birds of prey presentation which had eagles, kites, hawks, raptors and more. The flying demonstrations were spectacular. Was even brushed by the feathers of a wedge tailed eagle as it flew directly over where I was seated (4kg bird with a 2 meter wing span, amazing control and accuracy in flight
). Magnificent birds.
Also saw a presentation on the platypus (marsupial that lays eggs but mothers express milk for the young, soft duck bill, badger type tail, webbed feet - strange but cute little nocturnal animal).
Went out for a walk after getting home, so well over the 10,000 steps for the day.
Back interstate tomorrow.
Some photos from the sanctuary.
Jess a 2.5kg male wedgetail eagle
A barking owl in the presentation (completely silent in flight, B&W vision only, can catch prey by sound alone if needed). Was also brushed by this one when it flew past.
Platapus. (usually nocturnal, but this one was in the platypus presentation. All other photos I have of it were when being handled by the keeper and it's hard to make out).15 -
I love platypus! So you know that the male has venom. The only mammal that has venom...
Good day for me. Tough but good session at gym which got my heart rate 21 bpm above my theoretical max! Squated heavier than last week yet it felt easier. Also good yoga class
Calories way under but I really need to eat to plan or else I make bad choices.
All logged.
Had a dream last night that my crocodile killed some idiot who climbed into the enclosure. Luckily it did not come true although we did have a kid fall and knock herself out. Weird day...4 -
Date: June 11th
Exercised?: Did 90 minutes of MMA
Calories?: I havent eaten back any of my burnt calories so im far under my goal. Ate a small breakfast and a late lunch so then its hard to catch up with the calories
Tracked?: tracked all my food
A date have been set for my first amature mma match. September 8th, in the 61,2 kg weightclass. So i will have to cut my bulk short and bulk untill 8th of july wich gives me 2 months to cut down to the right weight wich should be enough.5 -

Fabulous pictures @craigo3154. I have heard great things of Healesville Sanctuary but did not visit there when we were in Melbourne. When in Tasmania, we visited and had a great afternoon at Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary. I don't know if that compares to Healesville, though. Thank you for sharing your photos!
When in the Melbourne area in 2013, we opted to visit the gold mining town at Sovereign Hill, Ballarat instead of going to Healesville. Just a week or two before our visit, an amateur prospector unearthed a gold nugget with estimated value of approx. $300,000. We were too late! https://www.usatoday.com/media/cinematic/video/1846481/raw-11-pound-gold-nugget-found-in-australia/

Haha, yeah I work at a snake park (and help at the Oceanarium in the same complex) so consider all the animals I look after mine. I do have a small Snake at home with my cat and dog, but not a Croc...
My fitness is good, but part of it is that I just have a really healthy heart. My resting heart rate is normally low 40s but we have clocked it at 35. 35 to 202 is quite a good range for a heart to have to work with!

Had an early walk. Was much better. Didn't push quiet as hard today. I try for an agressive routine 4 times a week with the rest being a steady pace. Really enoying my Fitbit Versa. It keeps me on track.
