Just wanted to share my most favorite clean/healthy eating website of all times. At least for me. I'm 15 years post gastric bypass and although I've lost 100 lbs I cannot get below 200 lbs. I yo yo up and down 15 lbs but never under it. I want to be conscience of my eating. I work in a office where certain people keep chocolate and cookies out everywhere. ALL.THE.TIME. I've asked them to stop but they say my lack of will power is not their problem. Booooo....anyways..back to my favorite website Ambitious Kitchen. Monique is fabulous, love her blogging and she shows alterations for those who are gluten free, vegan, vegetarian, etc. I have to eat stews or soups because of my surgery. Most other things block my pouch and I throw up. sorry, I know..TMI. But anyways, she has lots of very healthy, anti inflammatory and feel good foods. Her desserts are healthy and always clean. And delicious!!! Anyways..just thought I'd share. If anybody has any other websites they really like to get recipes off, please do share. I'm always up for slow cooker/crock pot recipes because it's just me and I love that I can throw it all in one pot and eat off of it for a week.6

I am following a whole foods, "clean eating lifestyle" (although it's definition varies depending on the individual). I follow a philosophy of eating lots of vegetables, keep fruit intake to a minimum, and eat appropriate amounts of protein via animal sources. I have had to clean up my diet due to some health challenges. I also follow a "low fodmap" diet and include healthy fat sources, no diary, gluten, oats, soy, yeast due to sensitives and to also help my body heal by eliminating foods that are considered inflammatory.
One of my favorite sites is clean & delicious. Lots of great tips and videos.2 -
I am so relieved to find friends of similar mind. If I read one more person's food diary containing junk food and desserts I might just lose it. I need to have MFP friends who eat cleanly.
I eat produce and lean protein except for my morning Fage yogurt. I was a vegetarian for 20+ years but after my bypass surgery I craved meat. No one was more surprised than me!
Years after the surgery I had issues with my Synthroid dose and gained weight. I've taken it off and am about 17 pounds from my lowest adult weight. I feel more like me now. And I enjoy the food I eat.
I use a NuWave domed convection air machine and cook weighed/measured food daily. I cook in the same dish I serve and I also cook in the glass containers I store food so I don't have a lot of dishes/pots/pans in the sink. The food is crispy and I can make green soft or crispy too! It cooks frozen protein so even if I didn't take anything out for a meal I can still make and serve healthy food. I use the nuker to boil water or soup only! LOL
Please add me as your friend if you'd like - I look forward to having healthy eating buddies!!!!3 -
I follow a clean eating lifestyle... 90-95% of the time. I make exceptions for family dinners, eating out with friends, etc. And sometimes I am just busy or lazy and slip up. I eat an anti-inflammatory diet because of my auto-immune diseases, chronic pain and fibro. It has made a world of difference in my health and pain levels. My diet is low-sodium, low sugar, no soy, no soda or juice, no artificial sweeteners, no processed food and no dairy milk (I do eat yogurt and cheese occasionally), I also don't eat much meat (just because I don't like it) but when I do I try to get local grass-fed meat.
I've tried vegeterian, vegan, gluten free and all the other things, but after 20 years of trial and error this plan seems to be working the best for me. My body was in such a state of inflammation that no matter what I tried, even with the diets and working out 5 days a week, I could not lose weight. However, since I have been on this plan, my inflammation is drastically reduced and the weight has been coming off fairly easily (so far).5 -
Good for you! I rely on turmeric/curry powder, cinnamon, ginger and alma powder pretty much daily. All anti-inflammatory/free-radicals. My ortho told me my knees take 5 times my weight in pressure so I know the less I weight the easier it is on my joints. I avoid tomatoes and eggplant because they encourage inflammation - and sugar for that reason and it's just unhealthy too. I like how I feel more than I like pizza. Thank G-d.

Hello all! I have been converting to clean eating thru out the past 6 months. I am not perfect but I try...the more I try the better I get. I have lost over 60 lbs and feel so much better both physically & mentally. Excited to make more clean eating friends! Have a great day:)2

You are all my type of people-feel free to add me! I try to stay away from processed foods, and eat a mostly veggie diet and cook from scratch. My MFP friends all eat sugary single serving type stuff and I need more veggie friends to gain inspiration from!0
-
Just reading this keeps me inspired, I'm adding you guys!0

I'm happy to share that today when I went on the scale I hit my 80th pound lost! Whoo hoo! I know that some of MFP friends eat desserts and empty carbs regularly and they struggle to lose weight. Their daily food may read well but if their goal is to lose weight they're sabotaging their efforts. My daily food often reflects low-fat protein and produce but I like it and more so, I love the results! Feeling healthy and average-weighted IS more delicious than pizza!7

Hi everyone! I don't know how to add y'all, but I'm a clean eater too. For most of the last 18 years I've eating low carb (about 85% of the time with 15% of that time-off for poor behavior). Lots of health issues and MO led me to knuckle down and go on a super "low everything" diet last year. At my oncologist's begging, I had an RNY in February. I'm down about 120lbs from my recent high weight and have a little more to go.
I have enough "cheese heads" and "carb monkeys" and "everything-in-moderationers" in my life, so would love some clean eating compatriots!!0 -
Hi everybody! I'm at my limit for requesting friends for today (sad face) but would love for anybody to send a friend request my way! I'll be making lots of clean eating cooking videos for my youtube channel!0

For about 8 months I've been very unhealthy. I live on coffee, don't eat during the day most of the time and maybe eat noodle soup and snacks. I have a busy bookkeeping business so I'm at my desk all day. I've gained 12 lbs this year.
Every other week I actually cook lunch and supper because my husband is home.
Now my husband is away 2 weeks at a time.
I need to learn to be disciplined, leave my desk, figure out what to eat and actually eat. I don't have any more snacks in the house. I do have a new instant pot.
Where do I start? I'm so used to not eating, I don't have much of an appetite.

Hi Teina!
I too am a coffeeaholic. Discipline has also been something I’ve been working on. I used to eat late night a lot and “fast foods” always on the go- I noticed my energy lacking though so I started to eat more nutrient dense foods. Instead of croissants I’ll eat a salad. I pre pack my food for the office - that’s helped a lot. What kind of foods do you like? I’ve been focusing on a lot of vegetables, seafood, eggs and poultry.
Ohhh I’ve been looking at instant pots! I saw some great recipes for lemon chicken with garlic and broccoli..
I saw this recipe - for instant pot Cuban Picadillo - I’d love to try! Maybe I’ll crock pot it.

All best!

Good to have found you all! I’m vegetarian leaning more towards veganism. I try to eat cleanly as much as possible but I do fall off the wagon occasionally! It’s great to have support. Please feel free to add me. All the best.1

I am following a no added salt, no added sugar diet with free-range eggs, grass-fed meat, organic fruits and vegetables. I am 51 yo, happily married, thankful mom who is 200 pounds and only 5 feet tall. I believe clean eating is the way to go. I have Crohn's and other medical issues, am disabled and looking to lose 60 pounds. Add me if you are female and similar.1

Clean eating probably means different things to different people but to me it means eating foods made with my own hands pretty much and ridding my pantry of foods filled with additives and preservatives.
I did a 'whole30' diet about 3 years ago and that really helped me get started on a clean eating plan. I didn't lose much weight but then I had a bit of a problem with portion control and night time eating. I currently do not follow a particular diet - I'm 73 years old and tried most of them out there and I just can't do diets anymore!
I am am avid label reader and don't buy anything with preservatives in them and try to keep the sugar low. And I eat ample 'good' fat. For the most part I make my own condiments, yogurt and bread products but try to keep the carbs at bay.
I started back on MFP back in July after knee replacement surgery. I found 2 weeks after I had lost 6 lbs and wasn't feeling much like eating so thought it was a good opportunity to pay attention and try to get some of this weight off. That was 20 weeks ago and I have dropped just shy of 19 lbs. A nice steady loss that I am happy with and MFP has helped me stay on track.
Look forward to interacting with the group. Good luck to all in your respective journeys.2 -
I am way over due to clean up my diet. I just completed my master's degree and now have the time to focus on my health. It has been over a year that I have been eating fast and processed food on the go almost exclusively. I feel like I may have forgotten how to cook, and I am definitely struggling with making a meal plan and grocery list. I have been slowly cleaning out my pantry of costco size convenience food and bringing them to work to share with my coworkers. I am doing 40-30-30 and this app helps me keep track without being a daunting chore. I'm glad to join you all in your healthful journey!4

, I’ll definitely be back to check out this group0

I sure can relate to every post here! Whether going vegan or paleo - I have great success on either - clean eating has worked wonders for me, along with exercise of course. I have researched and for me, I only need to exercise for 1/2 hour or so a day for the benefits. It simply feels good to feel good! No dairy, sugar, processed foods...that alone has made all the difference. Glad to join this group. How do I add someone as a friend here? I am technologically challenged. Thanks for any help.2
