This morning was rough....and I didn't step on the scale. So shall weigh in tomorrow. Food prep was done, healthy foods again. Went out for dinner last night. Had steak fajitas, but the downfall was chips with a dip tray. not just salsa, but other stuff that I didn't think about when I wanted to get fajitas. I can feel the sodium this morning. On a positive note, I did get on the bike for 20+ minutes on Saturday and on the rower for12 minutes following the bike. HA! That was rough. Yesterday temps were close to 110, but the humidity, which should have gone down, also went up. It was gross when I was grilling. Did I say it was a rough morning?? It is. I'll check back.

Oh wow, Lois, 110 and high humidity? I'm impressed you got your exercise and food prep done. Good job! You've set yourself up for a good week.

Sarah, I'm hoping for a stress reduction for you this week. Keep moving. . . it helps get the cortisol out of your system.

My weigh-in is on Wednesday, so just checking in today on you ladies. I've followed the Keto plan perfectly since the first of the month. We'll see.

Have a good week. Where's Kelly??

Hi, Ladies. Just also quickly checking in. Today was another killer day. The IT issues that I thought I got fixed on Friday were back today. My coworker that I call Grumpy Cat--my only help, really--still does not feel well (summer cold) and is especially grumpy! And Verizon finally showed up to do the last steps of fixing the phone, and that created interruptions, too.

To add insult to injury, the fiber optics line they forced on us requires an ugly box in my dining room. And the icing on the cake was that I worked from 7:30 a.m. until 8 p.m. without even stopping to eat (I know) and then hubby called from Wisconsin and gave me some irritating news about the kitchen remodel. Is anyone tired of me whining yet? I have a cherry to put on top! I found some bills that somehow didn't make it up into my "bills due" folder and they were overdue. So I paid a couple by phone and then raced to the PO with another. Noticed the car that was left is only empty, but I'll worry about that tomorrow.

The good thing is that I finally got some food--a wonderful big salad with cottage cheese, pecans, and strawberries, too, ala panera's strawberry poppyseed salad, and although I need to do a little more work tonight, at least hubby isn't here, so I don't have someone irritated for me at work situations I can't control!

Lois, I do hope things improved as your day went on. I'll send some good vibes your way for a much better Tuesday. And Sheesh, thanks for your good thoughts. You ladies are my rock at times.

Kelly must be very busy at home with the house, the wedding and the kids, but I'm anxious to hear how she's doing. Check in girl!!

Another rainy day in the Nation's capital. I learned that two of my favorite Nationals are being traded, so it looks like the owner has just given up on this season. Our bullpen continues to struggle and both closers are still on the DL. Well, more time I guess to do more active things.

Teddy got himself doused with the garden house this morning because he was chasing some small animal into the hostas. Probably another chipmunk! Thankfully it got away and I remembered to just not panic and use water to discourage my hunter.

Today was easier than yesterday although I'm still struggling with IT issues. Tonight I have to get to the gas station to fill my tank, run some errands, and hopefully get in some walking, too. I'm also sure I'll be hitting the pillow earlier tonight. I was so wired last night that I saw the clock turn to 2 a.m. One night on less than 5 hours sleep is doable. Two nights and I start sending pithy emails to the client. LOL

Lois, I hope my good vibes did their job and that you had a better day today.

I can't believe how much rain you're getting, Sarah! I heard a term on the news today . . "Climate Chaos". It seems like the case in so many parts of the world. :/

We have to be extra careful when our hubbies are out of town. Mine is heading to Alaska for his annual fishing trip soon. I plan to do nothing on ladders, heavy lifting, etc. It's just too risky. I had to rush him to the emergency room once for a serious cut on his head from a fall. Glad you only used the hose to discourage Teddy!

    Sorry about your Nats. :s

    I'll be back tomorrow.

Did a good deed for a friend tonight and on my home planned to stop by Petsmart and hit the grocery store. About three blocks from the shopping center the heavens opened up. I have never seen so much rain and lightning. I made it to Petsmart but didn't dare get out of the car. There were other people doing the same. At one point, I swear there was 5 inches of rain on the pavement outside my car. I finally realized that the store was going to close before I could get inside (my umbrella was in the back out of reach), and so I slowly drove home. The streets were flooding and I'm thankful that it was only 5 miles or so and I know the route very well. Otherwise I don't think I would have made it. People were pulling over everywhere and some lanes were not passable.

Made it home, got into dry clothes, made a salad and was just relieved to be safely home for the night. But a couple of hours later, here it came again. Thunder, lightning, torrential rain. I am so thankful that we do not live in a low-lying area. Climate Chaos. Oh yes indeed.

Just logged dinner and wanted to stop by the board. Glad to see you Sheesh. :) And yes--tomorrow is weigh-in day. Hmmmmmm

Super quick check in. Migraine - I THINK is under control. I'm back at work so that's a good thing. Didn't make it to dry hair yesterday. Took two of my migraine tablets and slept the day away and the evening.. Missed my critical hair appt so I need to reschedule that. UGH.

Sarah - be safe with the rains. I saw this morning that Hawaii is going to get pounded on Friday...praying it dissipates as well. We're still having storm systems here, more like micro bursts than heavy rains, but it does look like we got rain while I was sleeping (day or night...not sure which).

OMG, Sarah. I'm so glad you got home safely! Crazy weather. We're getting a few thunderstorms here and there, but nothing like that. Forecast looks nice for the next little while. I'm thinking about outdoor walks now that the smoke has dissipated. Don't forget about your treadmill ;)

Lois, those darn Migraines! I'm so sorry. I know how those feel. Thankfully, they're more rare for me now.

Well, the Keto diet appears to be working for me. I decided last night to increase my carbs slightly from 5% to 15%. I was just too light-headed and was having trouble feeling energetic enough to get much of a workout. I'm going to watch calories and the quality of the carbs (fruits and vegetables) to see if I can make that work.

Okay, another half pound. I'll take it. My goal is to somehow hit the 130s next week. Two days, I actually saw 139.8, but then jumped back up a bit. My weight rocks around a 2-3 pound range and always has.

I had to take some time today to squeeze in a dentist appointment. I wish I had more opportunities to get out of the house during the day. I felt like a kid playing hooky. But now I need to push some things out.

I also had my first meeting with my new team lead this morning, and I think I made a mistake! I mentioned a SharePoint database that has been just sitting and hasn't been demo'd for use. I should have kept my mouth shut because using it will increase the administrative part of my work. And they expect professional staff to do most of their own admin tasks. :s Why can't I learn to keep my mouth shut?

Hubby made it home from Wisconsin, but is absolutely beat and his work phone won't quit ringing. So, as I said, I need to get a little more work done, and then I need to get the errands run that got rained out last night. Our pantry and frig look like old Mother Hubbard's. LOL

Lois, I am so sorry to hear that after a stressful day, you got hit with a migraine. Hope it's better today.

Sheesh, you're amazing. I don't think keto is for me, but I'm happy for you, my friend.

And where the heck is Kelly? I see her at the top of the FitBit board, so I know she's still kicking.

Fantastic job ladies!! Great reductions! Keep it up!

Weather still stormy here...and the headache continues.... Wish I could have stayed home today, but I have way too much going on. cancelled my teeth cleaning appt for this morning as well...don't think I could have handled the sounds with my head. So hair and teeth get neglected because of this. ah well. Funny question in our meeting yesterday...if you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be? My answer - no more gray hair...buahaha. might have been different (not be as fat, but still healthy) if I hadn't had to cancel my hair appt. but dang I hate the gray hair.

Keep it going ladies. I'll check back when I can.

    Kelly must be home still...

Great reduction Sarah! I'm betting you will reach the 130's next week! I hope you don't get saddled with even more work on your plate because of your new team lead. A person only has so many hours in a day :|

Lois, do you think the weather has an impact on your migraines? It seems like I get a headache quite often when low pressure systems come through. I took ibuprofen yesterday for one, and we had a huge thunderstorm/hale/downpour last evening. No wonder I'd had a headache. I hope you can get in for your hair apt soon. For me, teeth cleaning is far down the list from hair apt, lol.

I had my trainer this morning, and I felt much better with a higher carb intake. I couldn't help but get on the scale to check the effect there, and sure enough my weight is up a pound. I'm sure it's a water gain, but the low energy isn't worth it to me. So, I'm going to continue with more carbs. All in all, I'm not sure about Keto. Maybe our bodies are all different, but I never really felt the high energy people report. I'm anxious to hear how Kelly is doing with it.

I am a little frustrated! My weigh is back up to 141.2 today. I have to assume it's the salt in the Peruvian rotisserie chicken we had last night since my total calories have been within range, but I don't like seeing that number. We both had a long, very busy and stressful work days yesterday, so we took a short cut with dinner last night and picked up chicken rather than beginning to cook at nearly 8:30.

I am becoming a little concerned about Kelly. It looks like her fitbit has not registered anything in the past couple of days.

Lois, I can so relate to the frustration of not being able to get things done that I need or want to get done for myself. I am still putting off that heart scan and I haven't replaced the glasses that I ordered in December and again in April and they never got right. Still wearing my super old "sleeping glasses" to read in bed at night! Hope you are feeling better and that you have a good weekend.

Sheesh, there was an article in the journal Lancet this week that said that moderate carbohydrate consumption is better than either low or high. I haven't read the full article so I don't know how they define moderate, but you can probably find the article if you google Lancet, August 20, and low-carb.

    I'll google that. Thanks Sarah.

Checking Kelly's Facebook page, she posted some very cute pics 4 hours ago . . . Trout Lake? Looks like she's enjoying herself. :)

I meant worry about "her." LOL

Today was another killer day, with long stressful hours, and I have to work some this weekend, too. But I still plan to get in some pool time and Sunday evening we're having lobster with our friends who live nearby and added a nice porch to the back of their house overlooking the woods. We're doing dessert, and I'm thinking about pulling out the ice cream churn since we bought a basket of peaches at the farmers market yesterday. Yes--I know about the sugar and fat in that, but I haven't had homemade peach ice cream in several years.

I do have some bad news that I hope will not turn out too badly. My niece found out this week that she has breast cancer. It was discovered in her annual mammogram, so hopefully they found it quickly.
