Research has shown that people who succeed have developed habits which increase the probability of success.
The UAC is designed to emphasize habits which increase your probability of being successfully fit and healthy.
On the other hand, reading your first 6 days of posts, some of you are too hard on yourselves. No one can change a lifetime of unhealthy habits overnight...day by day...focus on your victories!!!

Yes x3 today. A 4.5km walk before work in the drizzling rain was a surprisingly pleasant way to start the day.5

@RangerRickL lol thanks, just what I needed to see before a race! Might become my mantra.5

Exercised?: Yes. 3km in 24 mins (hills).
Calories?: Yes
Tracked?: Yes
Busy work day at home today. Lots of work on a number of clients including Spain.
Parent teacher interviews meant short day that was made up afterwards (so long day with a break for tea and interviews). Daughter is doing OK at school. She is very bright, passing all subjects and excelling in the ones she loves. However, as she is on the ASD spectrum, education (and particularly social interaction) is a challenge. (The ASD I'm sure comes from me).
Late night (and no post) yesterday was my own fault. Got a new game console (Nintendo Switch). I have played every Zelda game through to 100% completion, but was waiting for the price on the switch to drop a little before getting one for the latest Zelda (Breath of the Wind). Excellent game and was a victim of "I'll just do this bit.. and this bit.."
Zelda as a game is story heavy and combat light. I like games with a good story that takes more than 20 hours to complete. Zelda games are generally North of 40 hours in a first play through. This one looks more like over 100+.

Busy work day at home today. Quick walk before dark and rain.
Work has "finally" authorised the travel for Spain so that is now booked. My Spanish is being put to use. Most written communication is now in Spanish. Just my spoken Spanish will take quite a while to get up to speed. (Still doing German and Japanese).
Too much Zelda again tonight.
My wife is still not having to take insulin. Blood sugar readings in the morning and before dinner are still in the normal after 4 days. All good so far. However keeping a careful watch. In some ways, it feels a little like taking the training wheels off a bicycle.

3 X Yes today ~ plus I have just earned EVERY single one of the 143 calories on my evening walk, the first walk my 6.5 month German Shepherd has had in the rain OMGOODNESS he turned into a Tasmanian Devil !! he also managed to eat his own body weight in fox poo ~I'm now cold, very wet (despite wearing wet weather gear) but great news I'm 200 steps over my goal so it wasn't all bad ☔🐕🚶♀️🤣6

Habits have definitely played a big roll on my journey but it is also important to focus on adding them to your life gradually. Once you have one established, you can start focusing on another one, etc etc etc.
Also, there are times when the plan needs to change. This morning I skipped my gym session because I didn't sleep well (anyone else have a dog who suddenly decides to howl in his sleep?) and I needed some me time to get my head in the right place after a tough couple of days. I almost skipped Jiu Jitsu in the evening because it was freezing cold, but I realised the best way to warn up was to go to training. I had a great session and came home nice and warm!
Food was a bit higher than ideal but within the range I allowed myself today as it was sushi for my friend's birthday (it's trad that we take each other).
All logged as usual.
I know spring is rainy season here but honestly, this is colder than winter was. Warm up already, please!6 -
Today has been the kind of day which normally results in ordering a take away, opening the wine and vegging out in front of the TV. It's a habit which I need to swap out.
In the end I got 3 x yes and feeling really great about myself.8 -

@lamlam2013. Was fortunate you were close to an easy solution. Also fortunate that bike chains are easy to fix/replace (even if you do need to thread them round/through the derailleur gear mechanism).
Full marks for being out and cycling.

Totally agree that it is one day at a time! My victory the past two weeks is getting up before work to exercise - at 4:45. It’s been a rough go but if I wait till after a day of teaching it’s not going to happen.

I second this.
It takes MONTHS to re-enforce new habits. 30 days at least for a daily habit. Years for a weekly one.
The bigger and more out of your original comfort zone the habit, the longer it takes. If the new habit being formed is too difficult, or too uncomfortable, it will not stick (as you will fall out of it too easily).
Day by day.
Aim to make circle just today (forget about the month). If you miss today, try again tomorrow. That is all it takes.

tomorrow is a mystery,
and today is a gift...
that's why they call it present”

Tomorrow, I need to try and wake up early and get my exercise done in the morning! Fridays are so unpredictable, so I also need to try and not eat too many calories in the morning and for lunch.
Hope everyone has a great and successful weekend!2 -
