Research has shown that people who succeed have developed habits which increase the probability of success.
The UAC is designed to emphasize habits which increase your probability of being successfully fit and healthy.
On the other hand, reading your first 6 days of posts, some of you are too hard on yourselves. No one can change a lifetime of unhealthy habits overnight...day by day...focus on your victories!!!
Your friend, Rick
I second this.
It takes MONTHS to re-enforce new habits. 30 days at least for a daily habit. Years for a weekly one.
The bigger and more out of your original comfort zone the habit, the longer it takes. If the new habit being formed is too difficult, or too uncomfortable, it will not stick (as you will fall out of it too easily).
Day by day.
Aim to make circle just today (forget about the month). If you miss today, try again tomorrow. That is all it takes.

tomorrow is a mystery,
and today is a gift...
that's why they call it present”

Did I exercise for at least 20 minutes? Yes! Did 25 minutes on the treadmill. I had to really talk myself into getting on that thing!
Did I stay within my calorie budget for the day? Yes!
Did I keep track of everything I ate and drank? Yes!
Tomorrow, I need to try and wake up early and get my exercise done in the morning! Fridays are so unpredictable, so I also need to try and not eat too many calories in the morning and for lunch.
Hope everyone has a great and successful weekend!2 -

Habits have definitely played a big roll on my journey but it is also important to focus on adding them to your life gradually. Once you have one established, you can start focusing on another one, etc etc etc.
Also, there are times when the plan needs to change. This morning I skipped my gym session because I didn't sleep well (anyone else have a dog who suddenly decides to howl in his sleep?) and I needed some me time to get my head in the right place after a tough couple of days. I almost skipped Jiu Jitsu in the evening because it was freezing cold, but I realised the best way to warn up was to go to training. I had a great session and came home nice and warm!
Food was a bit higher than ideal but within the range I allowed myself today as it was sushi for my friend's birthday (it's trad that we take each other).
All logged as usual.
I know spring is rainy season here but honestly, this is colder than winter was. Warm up already, please!
Good luck with your German Shepherd pup, ours went through a phase of howling at 04 am when next door got a new rooster ~ thankfully he's over that now, best wishes for your September challenge x0 -
