Good morning BBB Friends.
- It got slightly breezy and we had a little bit of rain yesterday but we were clearly outside of the storm zone.
- Working the tv cameras at the early church service this morning.

Good morning BBB friends.
There is a cold rain pouring down as I type. My Facebook memories just showed me that one year ago we were playing with the grandkids, wearing shorts and T-shirts. I want a time machine.
Enjoy your day.0 -
I think all of you are already aware of my story a bit, so I am comfortable telling you on this forum that today I celebrate 5 years of sobriety. This is HUGE for me! 5 years ago I was a mess - utterly hopeless. Someone (a WW member who was my housekeeper at the time) found me and prevented me from killing myself, my family rallied and protected me when I was unable to protect myself from myself, and I found help that has completely altered the trajectory of my life. Today I am happy, joyous, and free! I have gained greater acceptance of life on life's terms, stronger coping skills to respond to that life, humility (I was clueless as to what that even meant), precious friends, and a stronger purpose. Today I am stronger because of my weaknesses than I could have ever been through my strengths. And I am celebrating.
That said, a very dear friend of mine who joined me on my journey about a month after I did is in a hospital bed right now, waiting to be led home to her Maker. I am grateful that she spent her last years free, as well, surrounded by the closest, most authentic friends she ever had.
We never know what tomorrow will bring ... or even what the next minute will bring. There is a verse in Ephesians that says, "Be careful, then, how you live, living as wise and not unwise, making the most of every opportunity, for the days are evil." Make the most of today, everyone. LIVE fully ... that doesn't mean selfishly, or in a haze of chemical fog, or even always in a fun way. It doesn't mean doing whatever I want whenever I want it. It means living in a way that makes a positive difference in the world. At least, that's my take on it. Live a meaningful life today.
Hugs all around!

Lisa.
May you be comforted by the fact your friend knew what kind of GREAT friend you were!
Thank you for the raw and authentic story. You are such a joy to so many... You encourage....you motivate....you inspire....you bring light to an otherwise dark world. Your smile emits joy and we are all more rich as a result of knowing you and being lucky to have you as a friend!!!!
Congratulations on your sobriety journey! Your struggles no longer own you - you control it! That fortitude and determination is what defines you.
Know you are loved by many - BBB community included! Here's to looking forward to your TEN YEAR celebration!
I'm sorry your five year celebration was interrupted by a somber string of events the past few weeks. Be ye encouraged. You are a child of a King - and yield more power over circumstance than it does you!
VIRTUAL hug to you!
