Couch MusingFour months left in this year...looking back, I have chosen bad habits over healthy ones since Easter...had two minor surgeries which gave me excuses to eat whatever. Screwed up my lab work that i had worked so hard to get in a good range. Just threw out good nutrition
. I have logged almost 100% for 2 months now. and lost and regained same 2-3 pounds after gaining 13 pounds since Easter! No Excuses.
We must get back on track!
Sept plan
1.Be calorie conscious...
2. No sweets at all till daughter's birthday in October
3. Decrease processed and fast foods...my plan is shrimp tacos without the tortilla chips and salsa!
4. Increase exertion of my training...i can burn 1000 calories during a triathalon session but thinking my body has adjusted so I need to increase metabolism...do speeds that will ramp up my heartbeat
5. Use gym once a week to use different muscles..( I have used bad weather as excuse as I train only outside)
6. Check out yoga? totally failed Pilates! too many tendon problems
7. Drink more water and work on Diet Coke addiction ( drinking it for breakfast...such bad chemicals!)
8. More green veggies...
9. Look for healthier foods to change eating habits...better fats etc
10. Keep processed foods off grocery list and out of house ...

Onward!!!

had good race Saturday. 1.2 mile swim in the Gulf of Mexico! but terrible side view photo of me at finish line....bulging belly! just dont realize how overweight I am....but serious about being calorie conscious to get back on track.

after race, took recreational 15 bike ride to a old spring park. training buddy in photo

Yesterday was the first time since Sept 1st that I didn't go over calories! Only 364 more days like that, and I'll reach my weight goal!

Out of financial desperation (upcoming trip with two teenagers) I've been forcing myself to eat at home, and carry my soup and yogurt for lunch at work. I've been cooking enough for 3 meals and boxing up leftovers for two nights. Then I use my usual mantra "Eat the food that's already paid for" or in this case, the food that's already cooked!

I've used the riced cauliflower before, but not the squash or the blend.

I've gone over calories a few times this last week, but eating at home seems to be working. My weight is down for the first time in several months! I need to work on not sabotaging myself on the weekends though!

Hope everyone has been having a good week. If not, we're here to offer moral support!
