OCTOBER Challenge!! It's official, this challenge has been going for over a year!
A new challenge month but the old spreadsheet.
So don't look for a new one of those, but continue to post your weight on the 'Keto Monthly Challenge Spreadsheet' which Nikki will update as needed. You can obviously also post your weight in this post and many do.
For anyone new out there; feel very welcome to join, we usually post our weigh Sundays and use the 'Keto Monthly Challenge Spreadsheet' also in 'Announcements' to track weight.
We use this thread to encourage each other and to add our weight as well if we want to and generally chat!
It's fun and it's been working and we've lost a shed load of weight between us. It seems to keep us going and even if we go up occasionally (and who doesn't!) we get back to it and continue the journey.
So here we go again, good luck in October.

I don’t know about anyone else, but I will be interested to see how I do with back to back measurements on the shared board (sept 30-oct 1)....my usual weigh day is Monday; though I have been checking in Sundays too...and Sunday is usually better than Monday ... but that’s what I get for drinking 1.5-2.0 gal water on Sunday

Hi - I started last month. Quick question - is there a way of editing the original post to this challenge? I put my weight in the spreadsheet, but couldn't find a way to go back in to my original post to add weights each week. I have been averaging about 2 lbs per week, and hope that continues through this month. Can't wait to break 170 It's been a few years since I was in the 160's.

I'm leaving for vacation on Wednesday so I will set that as pre-vacation. I hope to lose 1lb on the week of vacation (but I will feel accomplished if I do not gain).
I'm planning on staying Keto and work holiday celebrations into my macros.2 -

This month I plan to focus on working out. I do muay thai, but because of being out of town for work and a trip, I barely made a class in the past two months. My goal will be going three times a week.
The mid-160s is an ambivalent weight area for me. While down from my high point, being in the 160s is where I've mostly been for the past two years. I've sometimes been able to drop to the low 160s/high 150s, but almost always at that point loss becomes really hard, and things slip back up.
I will start feeling really excited/accomplished about this when the scale hits 158, which is also my halfway-to-goal point. If I'm able to do do even 1.5 pounds a week off in October, I'll make it. My new macros is 1350 calories, 90g fat, 100g protein, and 30g net carbs.

I'm in. Only lost 2.5 lbs in September, but am refocusing my brain. Hopefully, I'll get down to 260 by Halloween...

I am so glad I reached my goals for September. In October, i own it to myself to do more yoga and more cooking. Also more meditating and praying as we get closer to the end of the year.

Ending September close to my goal for the month so I definitely can’t complain! I’m now to the point where weight doesn’t matter as much to me as size does. I am still wearing a size 14 jean but could probably fit a size 12 if I tried. I’m scared to though. In case they don’t fit. My goal for October is to be in a size 12 jean very comfortably. Jeans are so unforgiving. 😂😂😂

Hi, @wendaeh ! There isn’t a way to edit original posts so typically people either copy/paste from past posts and then repost with the new details, or quote their last post and update with new details whatever is easiest for you!1 -
I'm in! I started keto back in June and lost 20 pounds. Then I went off track. I haven't gained any weight back since quitting, but I'm not losing anymore either. I'm excited to start keto again today! Fingers crossed I stay strong this round. Good luck to you all this month! New to Fitness Pal too. I welcome all like minded friends! ADD ME! Keto On!

October is a very important month in my life for many reasons but the biggest one is my wedding anniversary which my husband and I take very seriously each year. I want to lose a couple more pounds before the 19th and then continue my journey to a healthy body!

Keto round ✌️ for this girl.
I was fairly strict with keto from 11/17-2/18 in preparation for my April 2018 wedding. I lost 23 lbs during that short time!!! Since then I have slowly gained more weight as time has gone on (because I am the WORST at portion control)...but mostly I'm noticing the way my clothes fit is what's changed the most even though the scale hasn't moved THAT MUCH. The keto calculator (keto-calculator.ankerl.com) estimates that the lowest I can go without losing essential body fat is 138 lb... which intrigues me. I don't think I could get that low because my body type is rather muscular, and the last time I weighed that I was a freshman in HS. Anyway - I'm back and I've been doing this now for about three weeks, but only strictly for one week. I'm ready to jump back in!!!! Let's do this!!!! Last time I did keto more hardcore I loved having this group to keep me accountable!!!

A little too much fresh seafood and butter this weekend...and maybe I should've said no to the last glass of wine, lol...I'm looking forward to this coming Sunday, though! Ever since I cracked 180lbs, I feel like the world is my oyster!

This is my first day of Keto. It felt so weird to cook my eggs in butter this morning!! I probably haven't done that for almost 30 years.
I planned and tracked my menu last night so I didn't have to worry about what to eat. I'm about 7 carbs too high on protein and about the same too low in fat but I'm not trying to be too precise this first week.
Tested my blood glucose this morning before eating and it was 91.0 -
starting this month with 176.6 at 11% BF
GW: 182 at 8% BF by end of 20180 -
My Goal this month is to keep my water intake up

Here we are in the 10th month of the year. For my experiment of one, I have significant losses in 6 out of the first 9 months of this year. Unfortunately, my bad months have been clustered together here towards the end of the year. I’m proud and happy for the net 30 pounds I’ve lost so far. However, I’m disappointed, disgusted and mad at myself for gaining/giving back 15 pounds I worked so hard to lose.
I’m not trolling for sympathy or making excuses for my lack of discipline. I am saying this to all of you, my friends, for accountability. I want to break my cycle of making excuses, lacking in discipline and simply allowing myself to slip in and out of ketosis for weak reasons.
Today I will get back into ketosis and maintain it for the month of October. With that said, I’m NOT going to set weight goals for October, as I’m confident keto will give me results I want. Hopefully, the next 3 months results will wipe out the bad numbers I’ve accumulated over the last few months.
