@zanyterp Mmmmmm - they hit the spot as far as feeling more "normal" about what we were eating, but honestly, the next morning I ended up with such bad gas and bloating (from the noodles or the veggies I had afterward, I'm not sure) that I will be more cautious next time. I recommend not having it as a full meal as it will not fill you up and could cause similar issues. But otherwise, yes, they were wonderful to have as spaghetti and worth the effort. My husband said he'll probably separate them out better next time when drying them out because ours became kinda gloopy and stuck together. We thought we'd be able to separate them easier when dried some, but that was not the case. We plan on making chicken noodle soup with the fettuccine style next. I think that will be a much better use for them :)

@sykin & @zanyterp -I really like those shirataki noodles, too. And found it very important to just eat one serving -typically half the package -because I get so full, and then I am bloated and such the next day, too. (I'm kind of glad it isn't just me, tbh!) I just rinse them really well and then let them drain on a tea towel while I finish cooking everything else, and then either pan fry them or scald them in boiling water for a minute or two. All I have been able to find are the spaghetti/ramen style noodles, and haven't found the flat ones, yet.

Greetings all and @PrincesseAly23 I hear you about a move! So anyone with a very long memory and who has been kicking about this group for a while might remember we had a house fire early December 2017. We've been in a rental and then 20th September moved into a hotel until our house was ready to move into. This week we moved back home, yeah!! However the work still hasn't finished and I can't cook as yet but by the end of the weekend that should be sorted. The boxes are everywhere and all I've done is unpack and unpack and unpack. The good thing is everything I unpack I look at and think do I want or need that and fairly often the answer is no, so out to various places like Thrift or throw!
Over the past month, Keto has gone to hell in a hand cart as my ma used to say however yesterday I thought enough is enough and didn't eat as carbs, carbs and oh yes you guessed.....more carbs! It's been fun to an extend in that I've eaten stuff like proper pasta and rice and fries and and and.......!
So I will check in on Sunday having unearthed my scales and dusted them off! Goodness knows what that weight will be as I feel like a beached whale but at least I'm feeling that I want to get back to my normal and that there is now light at the end of the tunnel and despite only having three weeks until we go on holiday I'm not thinking what's the point of restarting which let me tell you is something I'm very capable of thinking!
So well done to everyone who, like me, has fallen off the wagon yet is in the process of climbing back on again and well done to everyone sticking with it and welcome to all the new people!

Just about to post the November Challenge...........! <3<3

@chinatowninchina glad to hear you are back home; hope the unpacking goes well. i am jealous of your ability to see the time that Thanksgiving is coming and deciding to get started now and see what comes when it comes. That is awesome; good luck this week!

    @zanyterp thanks!

Also just weighed myself and I've put on 5.4 pounds since end September so I'm taking that as a richly undeserved low weight gain! With what I've eaten and drunk and scale avoidance, (always a bad sign for me!) I expected that I would be much heavier. As I started last September 2017 at 184 I've only gone 1 pound into my 30 pounds off, so I'm 155 pounds.

Just about to get up and try to organise my kitchen and put stuff away and unwrap my actual cooker in the hope that tonight we will actually be able to eat a home cooked meal, the first since 20th September!! Oh and go shopping for actual food ingredients they are always a help if you want to cook!!!

    Sunday 10/14: 139.0
    Sunday 10/21:135.6
    Sunday 10/28: 134.6

I’ve lost 1 pound since last week and a total of 7 pounds since starting 3 weeks ago! I can see slowly but surely it’s working. I also lost about an inch under and on my bust area. Only 9 more pounds to lose before my goal weight!

    Started keto 29 July 2018

    SW: 178
    GW: 138

    09/30: 164.5
    10/07: 163.5
    10/14: 163
    10/21: 164.5
    10/28:

This is within my regular fluctuation, and I'm not surprised. We went to a Halloween party last night, and I had a few fun size Butterfingers (I only eat these once a year), and the chili at the party had beans and corn. Honestly, I'm happy I didn't gain more for this morning! I did an accidental 18 hour fast on Saturday, since I was working and was in a rush that morning, so just had my tea on me. That probably helped. Last I ate was at 8pm last night, so I'm going to go for a 16 hour fast today before eating. I need to hit the store and do some meal prepping for the week; frozen chicken thighs are defrosting in the sink now.

I just recalculated my macros to drop my net carbs to 20g, so we shall see how that helps. I don't plan to worry much if I go over due to vegetables, because I would rather go over and get in my broccoli, spinach, zucchini, etc., than not. See you all next week!

Start Weight (May 24,2018) 248.2 lbs

    GW for October 194 lbs.

    Near term goal 179.9 lbs

    October start weight 202 lbs

Sunday 10/7 no access to scale
    Sunday 10/14 200.8 lbs (-1.2)
    Sunday 10/21 198.6 lbs (-2.2) 🏆🏆🏆
    Sunday 10/28 197.0 lbs (-1.6)

Doesn't look like I will be meeting my October goal, but it's OK. As long as the weight is trending the down, I'm happy. I was on the road last week and again this week, so my goal is to continue to find ways to stay on program, make time for working out, and set boundaries with my boss (i.e just because I'm on the road does not mean I have to be on my computer 24hrs a day).

People that I haven't seen in a while are definitely noticing the change and i'm getting a lot of wanted attention ;)

Now my goal for November is to resist the urge of buying clothes "just because they fit", and put some money aside , so I can go shopping for things I'm happy to wear. By the mean time, I found enough in my closet in my current size to get thru the next 20 lbs.

    Monday 10/1- 180.3. Blood glucose 91, BODY fat 45.1%
    Sunday 10/07- 177.5. Blood glucose 79
    Sunday 10/14- 176.3 BG 84, BF 44.6%
    Sunday 10/21- 176.3 BG 76 BF 44.4%
    Sunday 10/28- 176.4 Measuements- Lost 2.5" since 9/26

Disappointed again with scale reading. Second week staying basically the same. Total loss for Oct is 4# and I can't be unhappy with that. However, if I'm to believe most keto posts, this 4 pounds is just difference in water weight between eating carbs and eating low carb.
But I am noticing my clothes, bracelets, rings feel looser and 4#s wouldn't usually make that much difference. So far I'm not seeing much difference between how I did on counting calories only and how I'm doing on keto. I'm committed to keto at least until the end of the year.

Those of you that have been doing this longer, did you see similar results when first starting?

I can't bake batches of Keto friendly goodies, I just can't!!

    Sunday 10/07 - 156.2
    Sunday 10/14 -
    Sunday 10/21 - 158.2
    Sunday 10/28 - 158.2

I will post these progress pics though:
    March 2018 & September 2018

I over ate them just as I over ate regular goodies. Whether it was sweet stuff or snack stuff like pork rinds versus Doritos, 1 was not enough. I made a keto mug cake one night and after making and eating a second one a few minutes later...I never made another.

It's been a good month as I reached my initial goal weight of 135. Now that I'm here I see I have a little was to go. I'll see if 130 is a better place for me and then go for there. I'm going to try and practice not tracking every single day to see if I can eat more intuitively. Maybe just track my food every couple of days to check in and make sure im still on track.

    OCTOBER:
    Sunday 09/30:  141.2
    Sunday 10/07:  138.8 (-2.4)
    Sunday 10/14:  137.8 (-1.0)
    Sunday 10/21:  135.0 (-2.8)
    Sunday 10/28:  134.2 (-0.8)
    Total: -7.0

    Hey all,

Last check in for the month. I celebrated a birthday on Friday. We went out to dinner. I ate absolutely all the things this week. Although I enjoyed the eats, I am looking forward to Keto tomorrow.

Also, I was hired to work in my kids' schools part time. I start tomorrow, YAY! I'm happy to get out of the house during the day. I enjoy being busy. I'm ready for November (I think).

    September net: +5.2 lbs. YIKES!

    Starting weight (July 24, 2018): 200.1
Goal weight (by June 10, 2019 -my birthday!): 140
    Current weight (Sept 28, 2018): 178.2

    Monday 10/1: 178.9
    Sunday 10/07: 178.6
    Sunday 10/14: 178.6
    Sunday 10/21: 175
    Sunday 10/28: 172.8
    Wednesday 10/31:

I was honestly expecting a stall this week, because while I kept my macros in check, I went over on my calories twice, and by a good 500 calories or so.

I am going to wait until 11/1, but will be changing my macros again...I want to boost my protein just a bit, because I start heavy weight lifting (Stronglifts 5x5), and will need it. So my ratio will be 70/25/5.

    SW (10'13): 388 (lost 133 lbs by 10'14)
    SW (10'18): 368

GW (Oct): 268 (with two birthdays this month, I will be happy to hit the 100lb mark at "only" 10 lbs down this month)
GW: 194 - 225 (not sure if I can be healthy or maintain at 194…but would be fun to say I lost half of myself. at least for a little bit and then maintain at a slightly higher weight)

    Monday 1 Oct: 278
Monday 8 Oct: 275.6 <-- loss here but gain on the spreadsheet. go me! :'(
    Monday 15 Oct: 273.2
    Monday 22 Oct: 271.2
    Monday 29 Oct: 273.8
    Wednesday 31 Oct:

Not sure how I managed that gain; especially with having been lower all week. Oh well :'(
Hopefully I do better next month and can actually get down to where i was hoping to hit this month. At least I had a positive NSV on Saturday in that I did not eat all the desserts at the Halloween party. I did have a cookie and a slice of pumpkin cheesecake roll; but i did not take a slice of cake (for the frosting, since that is the best part of cakes) and did not even get the kids apple crisp because i knew i would eat bowls of it)

    Saturday 10/20- 157.8
    Monday 10/29 - 159.8

I'm okay with this because I broke and got out of ketosis this weekend. I know it'll come back down... but also I've been SOOOO tempted lately. Mostly because I've been lazy and haven't wanted to cook for myself so I've been eating rather a lot of non-keto foods but just trying to pick off the carbs... with moderate success. I'm going to get back into it though and I'm gong to be good! I know it's only October, but bikini season is getting closer and closer! Gotta stay focused!!!!
