Good morning everybody!

Sorry I wasn't able to check in over the weekend. Ended up dealing with car trouble. A car that is only a year old, no less. They are saying it is a faulty battery. Everything is covered on warranty so that is good.

Today is my one day at work. Then I am off the rest of the week. My plans are to stick to decent calorie levels and hit the gym a few days. That's it! LOL

@jknight001 I made that lovely lentil soup that you posted! I made a few tweaks: I used less olive oil, I added an extra half cup of lentils, I added another carrot or two, I also skipped the thyme and added turmeric to the seasonings. Will let you know how it turned out. Thank you!

Will pop back in soon to check up on all you guys. Have a great day and a great week!!

Happy Tuesday, all!! I am making the most of my week off! Yesterday I ran errands, today I will finish cleaning my room (yes, it IS taking me this long to get it done!), and take my father-in-law to the dentist where I will start writing my final for one of my classes. I had a waffle for breakfast, but I might skip lunch and make soup and salad for dinner and make today a fast day. I really have a craving for some chicken noodle soup.
I hope you all are having a great week! Happy Thanksgiving! It is my FAVORITE holiday! I am truly blessed and all of you are one of those blessings.

Popping in to say hello! Having a great staycation with the fam. Not getting to the decluttering I had hoped to but I'll have time for that when my DS goes off to college in eight years. :D

Not logging but am trying to keep up with exercise. So far so good. Will get back to the normal routine next week.

Realizing I need to get Christmas shopping before my job starts in December. Wondering what to get for my DS's teacher. What do teachers really like to get?

Well, yesterday was not a fast day, but I don't think it was too bad. I didn't log, but I was conscious of my choices. I actually had a nice time with my father-in-law. He is not so bad when you have time to spare. I paid my kids to finish cleaning my room and pick up the house while I was gone. I am NOT above bribery and threats!! LOL

@Meghan509 I cleaned out my ENTIRE house a couple of years ago. It was unbelievable the random stuff we had accumulated!

@jknight001 Hello! I am having a staycation, too. It has been really nice. Teachers like gift cards. They also like useful stuff like felt tip pens and post-its.

    Have a great day!

@mamainthekitchen I don't care about stuffing or rolls or casseroles or even if there is turkey, but I HAVE to have mashed potatoes and brown gravy!

@mamainthekitchen Baked mac and cheese is a favorite, made with some cayenne, blue cheese and a little creole mustard for added bite. Also, someone always makes some sort of gumbo for every holiday (chicken and andouille this year.) Oh, and stuffed mirlitons (excuse me google spellcheck, but it really is a thing!)

Great day with the family back home...all of us finally sitting down for a holiday meal again after 5 years...and the Saints won!

Hope everyone had a good one.
