This last week I tried Noom's free trial. I found out that as far as accountability I was kinda on my own. The coach wasn't very good at checking in and it was too soon for me to get a group yet. I figured that I could keep using MFP (which also sync's well with Fitbit, Noom did not) and get the same results AND find a group such as this one to help hold me accountable for what I eat - I have no problem with exercise.
I'm excited to join this group and can't wait to see where I am at the end of Dec.8 -
I'm back for December! This will be my third mknth. So far, I have made it to the winner's circle each month. As with everyone else, I expect this month to be an interesting challenge, given the constant temptation of social gatherings and holiday goodies. However. I'm prepared to give it my best effort!!3

Hi everyone! I'm new here as well. I have used MFP on an off for calorie tracking before but it had never occurred to me to check out the community! Very excited to have found you guys, this challenge sounds like just what I need! I have gotten a bit too comfortable with my diet lately and want to lose a few stubborn pounds. I tend to start off well but then struggle with consistency, so ultimate accountability it is! I hope to see you all at the end of the challenge!5

Hello all. This is my first challenge. I'm new to using MFP for anything but tracking. But my tracking has been lacking lately, and it shows. So, this challenge is just what I need as a kick start!5

Hi. December will be my third consecutive month in the challenge. I haven't made the winners circle in the past 2 months but I lost over 2 lbs in November and 4 in October, so now I'm within 5 lbs of what is classified as a normal BMI, which is my big goal. I really enjoy the accountability the challenge offers and I'm happy with the results. December will definitely be tough, but I know there's lots of support here!8

I'm Terri. I'm 72 years young from Northern Ireland. Retired teacher. Back for my 2nd month on UAC, and loving the accountability.
I have been using MFP since Jan 2015. I have lost 62 lbs, but have been bobbing up and down 5lbs for a couple of months now. Losing the final 10lbs seems more difficult, but I'm determined to get it done by Christmas, so this is just the ticket for me at the minute.
Focus is the same as last month, achieving a maintenance weight that gives me wriggle room for high days and holidays. I'm using daily HIIT cardio/strength combo, and yoga/tai chi. I have my own weights and apart from walking, I work out at home using YouTube, fitnessblender, darebee, and anything else I come across. I love dancing, and attend fortnightly dance classes.
Present Daily Goals:✅ Staying strong. I am determined to do this.
Pre-log food; balance macros/micros
Hydrate adequately
Cardio: 9,500+ Steps daily
Strength: 15+ minutes
Flexibility: 15+ mins
Daily Mindfulness Practice/meditation
15+ mins Daily Declutter session
Challenges: Sole Mates/100 days/Just 10 Days/UAC10 -
I’m back. I’ve been on and off mfp the last few years and usually join this group when I’m on. I had no intentions of joining uac until January, but somehow here I am! I don’t expect to make the winners circle this month, but the accountability will be good for me.6

Hi All,
I’m going to try this again for December. I was here for the first 14 days of November, my first month trying, and fell flat on my face when my in-laws came to visit for 10 days. December won’t be easy, but it should be much more predictable than last month.
To introduce myself again.... I’m a busy mom trying to lose my last 10-15 pounds.
See y’all on the check-in thread tomorrow.5 -
Hi,
I've done MFP in general on and off for a long time now. First time doing UAC though and I really like that it's more about habit-forming than the actual scale because my loss tends to be slower than the numbers would suggest (and then I get frustrated and stop trying). So I'm hoping focusing on the habit will help keep me trucking along.
I'm also hoping to stick with a solid daily routine as well, including a daily menu plan because I want to see if reducing decision fatigue helps with all of my stress.7 -
Hello All,
This is my first month of UAC and I am already so glad I’ve decided to join up with you. I need the accountability as we go through this month full of yummy foods and reasons not to do my workouts.
I used MFP to lose 45 pounds in 2014/2015. Regained and then lost 10 of those pounds. The losing took all of 2018 at a rate of about 2 pounds a month. I’m now 8 pounds from my goal weight and I don’t want to stop my progress, but honestly, I’ll be happy if I maintain my weight this month!

Hi all! I have a newborn baby that turns two months old tomorrow and I’m here to lose the last 10 lbs of baby weight with a goal of losing another 15 lbs to reach my goal weight of 140. This is where I feel best!
I have found that tracking consistently in MFP gives me the best results, so I’m excited to be part of this challenge! I’ll have to do trial and error to find the right caloric intake for me as I’m exclusively breastfeeding. Hunger is my biggest enemy - I feel like I could eat a horse every day! That and sleep deprivation.....but 20 min of activity is definitely do-able each day. Let’s get started!6 -
Hello to all. I’m new to doing a challenge but have used MFP on and off (mostly off recently) for a couple years now.
I have trouble with staying power, so am hoping for some accountability by being in a group.
I’m 44, and weigh about 163. My goal is to get to about 144, a healthy BMI for my height. I just want to feel strong and healthy again. Something that often times feels unattainable.3 -
Good day everyone . This will be the first community I have joined of any of the programs I have tried over the years. In the last 12 months I have dropped from 303 lbs. to 260. Not without the ups and downs that comes along with fitness and weight loss. The lowest I hit was 254 in May of this year.
It has been a real hassle these past few months. It seems the drive i had when I started has diminished greatly.
What I am in search of is individuals to help me keep on track. Knowing that I can be a knucklehead sometimes. The idea of others on the same path can help me stay driven to attain my goals is really appealing.
I look forward to working with you all !!! Who knows, I may even be able to assist in helping some of you in reaching your goals...
Thanks,
Sarge4 -
Thanks for adding me. Looking forward to getting close to dropping that ten pounds that has been hanging around.1

I'm back for round two. I failed last month, but I'm hoping to win this round.2

Hi this is my first time joining a challenge. Looking forward to the accountability and working hard toward my health goals. Since 2014 I have gained 30lbs and have also hit my 40’s. It is time to take control of my health!

Hi. I'm back again. Going to try and finish the challenge. I used to be fit but an injury stopped me in my tracks. nearly 3 years later I'm back and my injury seems to have gone at last. My health has going south. Rejoined my Gym today and the results were shocking. My blood pressure is sky high so I need to get back into this and fast :-) I3

Hi all! I am excited to join this challenge as outer accountability is exactly what I need! My goal is to lose about 50 pounds in about a year for an all inclusive tropical vacation my husband and I are planning. I have lost weight before and gained it back, so I’m hoping this vacation will be motivating and perhaps this UAC group will help me stay accountable! I am so excited to be here!3

Hi everyone. I’m new to this challenge and am really excited to have found it. I’ve done other challenges that require a lot more specifics in exercise and such, but I’ve had a few injuries since January that has taken me out of a lot of things. I still have an injury in my leg that restricts me from doing a lot of weight bearing exercises which has led to me becoming very complacent in my weight loss goals. I’m hoping this time I’ll stay motivated to continue moving forward towards my goals and stay accountable during it.4

Hi, I’ve been tracking my intake mostly “on” last couple years due to progressing kidney damage. I’ve found it a very useful tool. I joined the challenge to try to become motivated to lose about 30# gained after several major surgeries in the last 5 or so yrs. At age of 61 weight isn’t easily lost. Not trying to sound whiny, just introducing myself. With several chronic health problems, this might not be best fit for me. I’ve already had to take 2 sick days for not being up to exercising and it’s only Dec 4! Lol This is my life2
