First 5K race question

Cora0477Cora0477 Posts: 117Member Member Posts: 117Member Member
I used a couch to 5K app on the treadmill. Now that I have signed up for my first 5K race, I’m wondering how difficult it will be to run it on the street after having only trained on the treadmill.

Any advice?

Street running is definitely harder. You have nothing under foot propelling you forward. I would get out and do some street runs on concrete just to get your legs and feet used to it.

Get outside as soon as possible.

It's different and a lot of people find it harder, and you have to learn to pace yourself as there's no machine doing it for you.
