This is a thread for everyone. If you're new to GoaD, or to weight loss, your questions and comments are always welcome. If you're maintaining, or a long-term loser, your thoughts on the topic may be just what someone else needs to hear. If you're reading this, join in the discussion!
Each weekday, a new topic is offered up for discussion. Thread starters for February are below:
Monday - imastar2 (Derrick)
Tuesday - gadgetgirlIL (Regina)
Wednesday - minimyzeme (Kim)
Thursday - misterhub (Greg)
Friday - jerdtrmndone (Jerry)
Today's Topic: Actions / Last week we talked about Struggles and Opportunities. Knowing how to do something and making great plans to do something are very different discussions compared to taking action on how to do a thing to realize or accomplish our goals.
Do you mind sharing 3-5 actions that you take or think you should take daily to assure your success with weight loss or weight maintenance.?

All of the above.0 -
Moderate or skip alcohol. True dat.
Stay active daily.
Eat proper portions.0 -
The two biggest for me are:
Weigh, measure, track.
Prepare food with leftovers in mind.
The second is key right now, since accurate tracking is currently a habit requiring no effort. For the food prep, I've been making a few things on the weekend. Ie. this weekend I made a Tuscan veg soup, Asian marinated pork tenderloin, grilled salmon (I leave those leftovers for DH), and I cut up two rotisserie chickens. Also roasted a variety of veggies, and hard cooked a dozen eggs. Being able to grab healthy choices quickly really helps keep me on track and out of higher cal foods that make me feel strapped later in the day with few points left. It also helps my DH eat better, since if it's not in there cooked and ready, he'll eat out (usually greasy chicken from the grocery store).0 -
yup to all of the above0

1) Eat less, but healthier for most meals at home.
2) Box half my meal when it gets to the table when eating out.
3) Act in accordance with how I want to feel after I get home when on vacation (which I am right now).0 -
Pretty much what was already said:
1) Weigh daily when at home
2) Track everything, every day
3) Exercise daily
4) Make my own food to take to work
5) Start my day off with a veggie filled omelete0
