I keep seeing that stupid keto crotch article going around like crazy. Makes me nuts the *kitten* that makes the news about keto or low carb.
Is it a coincidence that Weight Watchers is tanking? Is it also a coincidence they just hired the CEO of the ADA?!?! Is it a coincidence the majority owner of the company is basically a media god?!?!
I’m sure it’s just a coincidence.
Anyway, the next time someone shared that garbage story, let’s just remind them that there are much worse, real life fates...

@aoffman When someone uses a word that MFP thinks is a "swear word" or similar, the word "kitten" is auto inserted.

In case someone doesn't open the link within the USA Today link above, here it is listing the meds...

Yeah so I just use the word kitten freely now, and save the site some work.

Someone tried to start a thread in the debate section about this. Pfffft. Its goofy. Dietary changes cause odor changes. Big surprise. If it is really strong, it may be due to the dehydration and low electrolytes that newer ketoers do not know to address. Higher protein intake can cause some odor too.

So can certain times of the month, yeast infections (fueled by high carb diets), not wiping properly, having children and menopause...

That article annoyed me too. Plus the fact that it was written based on Womens Health online users who had noticed an increase in this topic on the web. An increase could have been from zero up to one or two comments. Very scientific.. Hmph. :#

So I read a few articles and did a little research, and it's just weird. I mean, aside from calling keto a 'new' way of eating ( :D ), at the end of this particular article: https://www.health.com/sexual-health/keto-crotch, the Dr. states that's it's NEVER normal for the vagina to have an odor. :|

I hadn't heard of this. But it was interesting, so thanks.

MY N=1 is that, during a period of very strict carnivore, I actually posted here about having zero odor. And I do mean zero.

I wasn't "looking" for this ... I wasn't expecting it. It wasn't even on my mind. What made me realize it was when I decided to get a diet Mt Dew at the gas station one night (you know, when I should have been sleeping instead) ... and after drinking it, I had noticeable changes in sensation (like yeast were having a party or something) and suddenly ~ odor.

Take from that what you will. But I can say that it was a time when my diet was otherwise very dialed-in, and I was VERY in-tune with what my body was doing. I debated about whether to share it here on the carnivore forum or not, but it was so mind-blowing to me ... I did.

I don't pay attention to WW news. But I just looked. That's a big fall, but these companies tend to be resilient. We'll see if they finally die.
