Have been looking for a nice, low cost v low carb, protein shake to tide me over a couple of meals when at the office. These are so many- any recommendations?

Honestly, you get what you pay for with protein/meal shakes. Be prepared to invest a little money if you want decent quality.

At the top of my list are Ancient Nutrition bone broth protein powders (they don't taste like broth), and Jay Robb's whey protein isolate. Both mix best with a milk of some sort, just FYI (I don't know of any that really taste okay in water).

From there, Garden of Life has a variety of good meal shakes and more nutritionally complete options as well as plain protein. They're my go-to for plant based options.

That said, there's also the foundational question to ask: why are you not taking your meal breaks at work and why are you working through multiple meal times? That sounds like a bigger health issue that needs addressed. Seriously, work can wait. Don't jeopardized your physical and mental health to try to squeeze in more work. Take your lunch break and eat a real meal.

I like the Sun Warrior chocolate flavor...the other flavors taste rather like play-doh, but the chocolate is good and makes a tasty hot chocolate...if you like it cold then I recommend mixing it in the morning and letting it sit for at least a couple hours before drinking, it doesn't dissolve as well cold and I intensely dislike that gritty feeling.

My mother liked the canned Pure Protein shakes, but I haven't tried those myself.

I really like the Boost Max Protein shakes... 30g protein, 5 net carbs and 24 vitamins/minerals. Already made, so just chill and drink when needed.

I agree with @Dragonwolf completely in this.

Beverly International's Muscle Provider (chocolate) is the best I have ever had. I have enjoyed it for years and I still think it's delicious. Add less water and it makes a great pudding.

I also love the Lean Active 6 in orange sherbet but that is difficult to find.

I make mine with water usually and still find them tasty.

They are not the cheapest options though.

I love Isopure unflavored whey protein. 0 everything except protein 25grams. It mixes well and can be used hot or cold or baked. I put it in my coffee for breakfast.
