Can't lose preop weight

So, I knew this was going to happen. I lost my weight, I had six months to do it. Then I gained it back and then some! So my surgery is on hold until I can weigh less than what I came in with, and I am doing weigh ins. This is hard. I can't lose weight and keep it off. Can anyone tell me how they lost their preop weight? I mean, how can they ask of me something that I have been struggling with all my life. Any advice?

Fit4sho42 You are inbetween a rock and a hard place. How much weight did the doctor ask you to get off before surgery approval? It’s tough but they want to see the commitment to permanent change in eating habits because the surgery isn’t magic.... there is a “honeymoon” period after surgery where you will drop the most weight in correlation with a regulated diet. After 8 months I dropped the majority of my weight but HAD to increase my exercise and adjust my food intake accordingly. As long as I am consistently taking off 3-4 lbs.... I am in no rush...seems like the slower I go.... my “set point” changes on the scale. I am healthier, happier, and still allow myself small amounts of my favorite “comfort foods”.... but, I can say that sometimes my sleeve is not happy with my choices.... and I literally end up on the potty because my body REJECTS some of my choices....
