:D So yesterday was my D-day. I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. It was such a wake up call. I need support, and direction. I know what needs to be done. Just need people in my circle.

Losing weight and exercise helped when I was first diagnosed. It took low card to get my a1c under 6. I am not strict or keto, although I would like to. That just tough. You can do it!!

I'm also diagnosed yesterday... What to do. If I don't eat I feel dizzy. Exercise give me sores and body pain... I'm hopeless.... Where to start from :(

Hi, I'm new-ish too. I've been using MFP to track my calories and have lost about 10 lbs since January. In March, I started paying attention to carbs (I was diagnosed at the end of Feb) and lowered the amount I'm eating. It's a struggle to figure out what to eat. Much more protein, such as meat and nuts, than I used to eat.

I was diagnosed in 2016. I started testing BG all the time and taking metformin. Nothing seemed to do much for the readings besides low carb. I went keto in October, 2016. I lost weight and went off the metformin. I am sticking with the keto.

My last few A1C readings have all been mid 5's. BG this morning was 94.

first time around a couple years back (2011ish) i went on an exercise regime of walking up to 10 miles a day. I lost 45 lbs felt great and got off my meds. Ultimately though with a family of 8 kids I couldn't keep putting that much time of my day into exercise and fell off the wagon. 10 days ago Dr. measured my A1C at 12.2 which is a BG of ~ 303. I went home and joined my daughter on her low carb keto diet and this morning my BG was 128 up from yesterday's 116. I'm a bit of a slow learner but I've heard this a couple times and can now attest to, you can't out exercise a bad diet. I'm not sure if I'm a keto for lifer yet but I am a keto for nower!
