You had some reason for joining the UAC. If you have been a long time participant, then you are achieving some new goal. Whatever your own personal goal, yesterday’s habits took you somewhere you do not wish to be. The UAC leads to health and vitality ( sorry, but wealth is not part of our package of promised treasures). Health and vitality are more important than wealth!
Don’t look back to yesterday’s bad habits. Act thoughtfully today and tomorrow will result in a new and healthier you!

3 x yes (3km walk today). Was intending 5km, but felt too exhausted after 1km so took the 3km route instead of the 5km route.
MapMyFitness seems now to under-report calories for fast walking (>4.0mph). Reporting less than 1/2 what it was estimating a week ago.
Why did I join UAC (over 12 months ago)? To build and re-enforce healthy habits and to help other people.
I liked how UAC focused on the process instead of the result.
I still maintain that UAC is both the best and the toughest challenge for most people. It sets you up with the right habits to help you for a lifetime. Changing habits is MUCH harder than a special effort targeted for an event.
Short post today. Tired from the week and looking forward to the weekend.9 -
I agree! I like hearing about all the different ways people tweak the UAC process to fit their own situations - we each end up with evolving whatever "sustainable lifestyle habits" fit our unique situations. Yet the "be active; set your limit; and eat within it" is general enough to be universal no matter what your own situation.8

I joined UAC because I needed something to be accountable to and something new that I hadn't done before to keep me interested long enough to build the new desired habits. It worked and I have no intention of leaving!6 -

I know I shouldn't do this, but I'm going to pick up the challenge in May. In order for my dad to go home by the end of the month, I need to get things ready at his home and with his PT rehab. I'm going to try to not go off the rails, but too many challenges with how busy I am this month is getting kind of stressful. Fingers crossed he will be back in his home in May and I will have much more freedom and less mental stress.11

Did I exercise for at least 20 minutes? Yes. 30 minutes walking to and from the gym, Weight training for
Did I stay within my calorie budget for the day? No. At least, I don't think so. I'm having take out sushi tonight, and I estimated the calories, but they could honestly be just about anything.
Did I keep track of everything I ate and drank? Yes. I put entries for everything, but no way to know if those entries are accurate or what the true portions of my delicious sushi were.
For those reasons, Pass Day 1 of 3 for me today. Totally worth it, though, for the sushi.
I joined this challenge because I wanted something to help me really stick to the habit of taking daily activity and tracking every bite. I have 30-45 more lbs to lose, it's going to take total commitment to get there, and even more commitment to keeping it off for the rest of my life. This challenge has helped me SO much.
I did a thing today that was scary for me. I started a fitness instagram for myself, and today I took a video of myself deadlifting and posted it. It took some nerving up but I'm so glad I did it!5 -
3 X’s Yes
Yoga and under by too many calories. It’s crazy that lately I’m focusing more on eating enough calories rather than eating too many.
UAC is really helping me be consistent.

@lamlam2013. Hope all does go well.
Try keep tracking using MFP even during the busy times (even if not reporting in). It makes later discovery of patterns that work for you so much easier.2 -
@lamlam2013, hard stuff. Look forward to seeing you back when you're ready.1

Did I exercise for at least 20 minutes? 45 minutes strength training (bis, tris and shoulder burnout), followed by 2 hours of house cleaning. It's my day off after a crazy work week where I ran a 3-day Annual Conference and 2 1/2 day board meeting.
Did I stay within my calorie budget for the day? Yes and slightly under
Did I keep track of everything I ate and drank? Yep!
I started UAC in January as I was new to MFP and needed to get back on track. It totally works and I have been able to lose about 5 lbs since January and keep it off. I continue to do it because it helps keep me accountable and on-point. I love this group!3 -
