Welcome to the May 2019 Ultimate Accountability Challenge!
Some of you have been with this challenge for months and some are brand new. This is one of the hardest challenges to stay with throughout the entire month. FOCUS, FOCUS, FOCUS!! Log every BLT (Bite, Lick, Taste). Stay strong and true to yourself....YOU WILL SUCCEED!!
Please feel free to share as much information as you feel comfortable sharing about yourself with the rest of the group. I look forward to getting to know all of you a little better.
GOOD LUCK!

I have done this in the past but have not made the winners circle. May I will do it! Good luck all!10

Looking forward to another month with this amazing group!!9

So am I! Hoping to do better this time around, and get back into the Winner's Circle. The self-awareness and habits fostered here (starting back last October) are what got me to maintenance. May will be my second month learning this new "working on staying the same" way of thinking and living.10

Hi everyone! My name is Cathy, I'm 53 and am an empty-nester. I've got very low blood pressure (POTS), so have trouble with anything that requires a lot of endurance or standing while exercising. I'm not a gym person, but LOVE to hike, walk to the park near our home and do yoga. This past winter we got a treadmill and I broke my foot after trying to run on it, so definitely got sedentary and lazy. This is my first attempt at tracking and exercising EVERY SINGLE DAY! I've recently really gotten lazy with both, so am very excited and ready to be accountable! Looking forward to a wonderful month!! Thanks in advance to all of you!9

my Core Cardio dance program is based on Latin dance too! (5 rhythms in all, including salsa)7 -
I'm hoping to return for May too. I'm currently pregnant with a due date in June but as we all know these things can't be predicted! (I'm expecting to be late again rather than early though, God willing all is well anyway). Excercise is getting more gentle but I'll still aim for at least 20 mins.
Good luck everyone! Here's to a great month ahead!8 -
@ShareASmile (treadmill fall - ouch!) and @rozbee1 (so glad you're healed up!) ... so glad you're both here!! You're going to love it!3

Hi everyone! I am back for another month -- this will be month #5 for me as I started in January. May will also hopefully be my fifth time in the Winner's Circle.10

Hello friends! Looking forward to joining this challenge, it will be my 2nd month (started with April) and I think I’m gettin in the swing of things so hopefully can keep that momentum going. I appreciate that extra accountability. It really helps. I’ve lost 26 pounds since joining MFP in January and have about 30 more to go. Let’s do this!! ☀️10

Hi Everyone! I've used MFP sporadically in the past, but never used the community feature. I'm hoping the accountability and group effort will be the motivation to keep me going for more than a couple of days/weeks at a time. Since this is my first post, a little about myself: I'm 35 year old mom of 3 boys (ages 7, 5, & 3). I am a scientist during the day (ask me any nerdy question, if I don't know - I enjoy finding out) and my husband and I own 3 other businesses. I've learned there is no 'finding time', it's all about making time and setting priorities. This is a daily battle for me as I tend to put other peoples needs/priorities in front of my own. I'll see you guys in the daily check-ins!13

Hi peeps! Looking forward to the challenge. I've no problem with the exercise (Les Mills BODYCOMBAT and soon to be CXWORX instructor here!) My problem lies with my diet, and I know it's because I'm not logging every food and beverage religiously! Hoping that this challenge will keep me accountable so I can start to see that number on the scale and around my waist/hips go down!8

Was a bit hesitant to sign up for the UAC but I know I need accountability to stay on track. I need something to remind me as I put my hand on the refrigerator handle, that I don't really need anything in there at the moment. I need to learn to eat mindfully and I really have to get back into the routine of walking/exercising every day. I really think this will help build good habits!9

I’m a first timer. My calories aren’t as consistent as I’d like even though I’m maintaining. I also want the challenge to move everyday. I have a chronic illness but am not going to allow that to be an excuse for laziness. Im quite embarrassed to admit that I get stuck on the couch. I really want to develop better habits as well as being more responsible for my food.

Me too! After 50+ years it’s hard to break that habit!! Grrrr. Looking over the past month, that’s the biggest reason I went over my calorie limit.
I used to have a list of the difference between real hunger and emotional hunger but can’t find it. I think I’ll look that up, print it out, and tape it to my forehead in the afternoon/evening!4 -
This will be my first challenge - I am looking forward to starting May off on the 'right foot'!

Hi everyone! I am a 46 year old female, mom of two. New to this group but not to MFP,hoping this challenge will help me stay motivated. I started out a few years ago at 265 and got down to 179. Unfortunately life happened and I started ignoring my health and got back up to 235. This January I started my weight loss journey again but haven't been really consistent with it until the last month or so. I am now at 217 . I already workout every day and walk 3.5 miles every night. I am determined to get to my goal weight of 150 and live a healthier lifestyle so I can be around for a long time for my kids.10

Hello fellow CiCo fans! I'm a 54 year old dad. I've been successful with MFP and logging in the past but let my habits lapse for a couple of years. My fitness is ok but when I stopped logging my food, the pounds slowly crept back on. I started up again this week and I was hoping to find a way to add some social accountability to my process. It sounds like a little more fun than doing it solo. The UAC method is very close to what's worked for me before so this looks great. Here's to a slow and steady summer of healthy habits!9

Hello all! I was in maintenance most of last year but this year I gained back 15lbs of my 35lb weight loss. I thought I had all of this figured out, that I would be able to maintain my loss permanently, but my daughter was diagnosed with cancer last November and my husband and I had to look after her newborn baby and 5 year old, then in February I got sick and am only just getting over it now. No exercise all for 4+ months and lots of comfort food. My daughter just finished her chemo (she’s cured) and I have no excuse but to get back on track. I did a challenge like this on MFP years ago and loved it. I made it a few times and failed a few times. I’m feeling optimistic that I can do this. Looking forward to the comraderie and the accountability that this challenge offers.10

Hi all! First time in this group. I feel like MFP has changed a lot since I first used it in 2011 and I'm really looking forward to what looks like an active group!7
-
Hi, I am so excited to begin this! I’m hoping to make it to the winners circle and accomplish my goal to losing 8-10 pounds in May!7
-
@goldthistime, so sorry your family has gone through all of that but so happy your daughter is cancer-free now! Welcome to a great group!! You'll love it!
Welcome to all the newbies! Glad you're with us! You'll love it here!2 -

Hello
I am looking forward to once again get back to focus.
This will be my 4th month with UAC.
I remember when I signed up for Feb in mid Jan, I was nervous this would be a group where I would be such an underachiever because everyone would be so ....can't find the right words, but felt I would be getting in over my head.
I was so wrong. Right away strangers, now friends, of every fitness level, weight goals started encouraging me. It's been great.
Unfortunately I let March get away with me, I've gained a couple pounds back.
I am looking forward to May.7 -
Hi! This will be my first month trying this challenge. I used MFP to loose weight 7 yrs ago, and it worked great. But as soon as I hit my goal I I started to backtrack almost immediately. It took years to gain it back, and boy is it back. I need more support and accountability and look forward to moving forward with this challenge.6

Love me some Les Mills. How inspiring that you’re an instructor! You must be quite an athlete. My goal is to feel like an athlete again... and a lot of that is food.
Hello emotional eating! May is going to be a good month. I just know something good is going to happen. Can’t wait to see.

Welcome to the first timers!
I am happy that May will be my second month participating.
Though I am committed to being in the winner's circle my focus will be to post each and every day.5 -
Welcome Newbies and also welcome back oldies.
I have been on this group for over 1 year.
These are some of the sad but wonderful truths I have learned in this journey.
It is about my health /your health. This is one thing in this life that nobody can do for me or you (us).
Nobody can exercise on my or your behalf.
Nobody can keep track of what I/ you eat, bite, lick, drink, etc on my/your behalf
Nobody can stay within my/your calorie budget on my/your behalf
https://www.mayoclinic.org/healthy-lifestyle/weight-loss/in-depth/weight-loss/art-20047752
Please do not give up. Please, please, please do not drop out when you fall off the wagon. Get up. We will help you dust off the dirt
This group is very accommodating, very encouraging, and there is no judgement
We are very supportive.
I will be here, some of us will still be here either loosing, maintaining or conquering bad habits. Every small step will put you in the right direction.7 -
Hi everyone! I am a pediatrician by day (or night, depending on my schedule and mom to a preschooler and infant. With diastasis recti and a lot of overeating during a period of acute stress, not to mention a super inconsistent schedule due to work, I'm very unhappy with how my body looks right now. It really limits me because it stops me from doing things I love like going to the beach, going out latin dancing, or even just wearing the clothes I want to. I've tried a bunch of different plans to get it back from eliminating sweets, eating only every 2 hours, and complicated reward systems including hydration and exercise. I realized that good old fashioned calorie counting is really the only way to know that I'm doing something that's actually going to produce results. I'm currently on a five day streak but I'm looking for something to keep me going if the excitement wears off and this looks perfect. I just want to get my body back and am looking forward to doing it as a team with all of you!7
