    Are apples and carrots allowed?

You can eat them, but both have a higher carb count, so you'll want to watch your portion sizes. I personally don't eat them because I find that there are plenty other healthy foods with a lower carb count. If you really can't live without your apples, try Granny Smith, they have a lower sugar count and thus less of a carb impact.

@goldengirl111 You can eat whatever keeps you in ketosis; however, higher sugar/carb things like carrots and apples will make it difficult to get into ketosis if you are just getting started.

There a lots of resources online with "getting started" foods lists. Check out dietdoctor.com and also https://www.drberg.com/blog-article/ketogenic-diet-plan#list.

Once you get fat adapted, which can take a few weeks to a few months, you may be able to add in small amounts of higher carb fruit and veggies. Personally, now that I am fat adapted, I don't ever want or crave those things, and I used to be an absolute fruit addict - like, I could eat a whole pineapple or honeydew melon by myself in one sitting. These days, I on occasion have a serving of low carb fruit like blueberries or strawberries. Not to say I'll never have a bite of an apple ever again, of course not. But those high sugar fruits are such a shock to the system after being fat adapted.

unfortunately not really, you can weigh and put against your daily carb count but it won't be a lot and you'll end up with no other carbs to play with, stick to low carb vegetables like salads and broccoli etc, check out more information on sites like the diet doctor etc. Good luck

    Hi Everyone

I'm aiming to be full keto this month eating mostly mince beef as it's cheap and high protein.

    SW 179.3
    GW 136.4

    May goal: 162.8

I wish everyone luck this month. It's great to be accountable.

I make my meat patties in a sandwich press with baking paper so it doesn't make a mess. I make 100g patties which I weigh so I can get the calories just right in fitness pal.

This has been a GREAT week! Not just in terms of weight loss, but of overall energy and outlook.

Last week I had finished one week of carnivore. I only planned to do one week because I felt like it would be way too restrictive and I would need to stop after that week. Well, I am still carnivore and I LOVE it! I really don't crave any non-carnivore foods, and I don't see myself giving this WOE up any time soon. I thought this would be such a punishment, but it's actually a blessing.

I am full much longer on much less food and my mental clarity and focus has improved. Plus, losing more than 4 pounds in two weeks (my best rate ever) ain't to bad either!

    Have a great week everyone!

Still having trouble with sweets/candy, I know its more of a mind game right now. I am craving Peanut Butter M&M's constantly and its driving me crazy. but i will get back to it. Just have to take one day at a time and not get down on my self.

I started back on Keto on 4/7 and have lost 12pbs since. I’m not one of the lucky ones that Keto just makes the weight fall off. I STRUGGLE to get 3lbs per week, even being over 100lbs overweight so I’m happy with my progress so far.

I’ve already had 2 slip ups this month with the artificial sweeteners, but overall it’s going well.

Why not add into your carbs a small amount of peanut butter. There are some that are quite low carb and if you put the butter in a small (very small!) pot and eat slowly with a tea spoon it might help the cravings as you will be cutting out the chocolate but it still feels like a treat. That's what I do when I want something as an extra. Good luck!

3 pounds per week is a fantastic weight loss! You've done well. Just remember it wasn't a week or two to gain the weight and it's not a week or two to loose it (very unfortunately!!)

Happy Cinco de Mayo! This has been a pretty rough week for me. My AI symptoms have been flaring up, so my eating has been a little off. On the plus side, two of my goals were to consistently log my meals and drink at least 64 oz of water and I did! This week I would like to add better self-care and working on getting my steps in. I wish everyone a great and productive next week! <3

I totally get how hard it is having those cravings. There are lots of keto versions of yummy treats for when you need one. Here's an easy recipe for chocolate peanut butter balls https://thebigmansworld.com/no-bake-keto-chocolate-peanut-butter-balls-paleo-vegan-low-carb/#wprm-recipe-container-19440

    Good luck!
