It feels like cheating...

I am currently on day 224 of this WOE, and even tough I have had my ups and downs...I feel like I am cheating by how "easy" it has been to lose weight.
I am down 42lbs, got a few more to go, but this is the longest I have been on a "diet" and so far, I do not see myself quitting any time soon.
I have been looking at pictures form many years ago and see how far I have come, but it doesn't feel like it has been as hard as other times to lose the weight, this is the smallest I have been in maybe 2 decades....and it feels off...but in a good way
I am somewhere between 20-30lbs from hitting goal...and even though I am not losing as much as I was at first, I am excited for day #365...
I am losing weight, building muscle, and feeling so much better...if doing this is wrong, then I don't want to be right!
Anyone else feel this way?

Happy to read that you are having solid results: Congrats! Totally agree. Keto/LC has become the norm in my life. Even when I stray my body calls me back pretty quickly. Our natural way that we are supposed to be.
I had a good laugh today. Spent April focusing on weights which meant more carbs but May is a keto month. Within a week I went down 11 pounds. Have to love the purge effect when the body gets rid of excess fluids and the gut cleans out.7 -
congrats to you both!
@Everyonelies very much does it feel like cheating for me as well (and has since i started). i don't know that i have ever felt this good while actually being full (and not overfull as i would frequently do previously).
@qweck3 thank you for sharing all your data and insight2 -
It’s definitely been the easiest way to achieve and maintain a healthy weight that I’ve ever tried. I think this is why some people get the impression that keto is “magic” when they hear us talk about how great it is and how easy it is for us.
I realize it’s not easy for everyone but anyone that can get past the mental hurdles of grieving their lost carbs will usually describe it that way.7 -
Yes!! For me, I think the hardest part about keto is thinking about starting.7

It is amazing how "easy" it can be to lose weight...I am really looking forward to the maintenance of it all. Skin to bounce back, as much as possible, and just the overall feeling of being right where I want to be!4

It is the easiest I’ve ever done too, with the greatest results!!
I’m so happy for you! It’s great to hear where you are! That’s so awesome!!1 -
Congratulations! I’m so happy to hear that! It truly gives me hope since I’m new to this. I heard you become a fat burning machine. I’m sure you became one. Good on you! I know you say it’s easy but without your hard work and power of commitment you wouldn’t have achieved this far. So yeah, congratulations!!!! I have 60 lbs to lose lol1

Preach it!
After being various degrees of overweight my entire life and having dieted over and over with various degrees of success, keto is my answer.
My husband and I started last August and there is no turning back. We are in the best shape of our lives and it keeps getting better. Not just physically but mentally and emotionally. It’s like everything just clicked.
For us all of the benefits has made it super easy.3 -

The Ketogenic diet is a low-carb diet that tries to get the body in a state of ketosis (which is the process of burning fat for energy in the absence of carbohydrates). Most people try to limit their total carb intakes daily to 50g and their net carbs to 20 or under (Net carbs are calculated by subtracting fiber and/or sugar alcohols from total carbs in a food or series of foods). It is a bit unique to each person how few carbs are few enough to allow their bodies to enter into ketosis, keep that in mind.
You don't necessarily have to omit any food on a ketogenic diet. Most people however find it easier to maintain if they do not consume high carbohydrate laden foods, as they will reach the daily max very quickly while not consuming enough fat to maintain a level of satiety to keep them on track and within their calorie needs.
All diets regardless of what they are work off of calorie deficits. A ketogenic diet is no different than this. You can be in ketosis and still gain weight (if you are eating a surplus of calories). It takes will power and a level of steadfastness to alter ones eating habits and omit high carb foods. There are literally thousands of sites, blogs, youtube channels, etc.. on the subject and are far too many to list here...
It's suggested to do some research before jumping in...specifically on what the diet is, what foods are "suggested" and what foods are "suggested to omit". The below site helped me to get my mind right before starting. I have followed keto since 1 Jan, and have lost approx 38lbs to date of a 40lb goal.

Good Luck!

I know this is an older post, but can relate. Only been at this almost a month, and it seems so strange to eat what I'm eating, feel this great, and drop inches. See body changing literally everyday.
And no one in my family believed me until I sent them a collage of daily pictures put together.
This way of eating seems insane to me, and I can't quite wrap my head around it yet! Loving and enjoying it!!!1
